With the PS5 officially launched, many members of the gaming community are finally able to get their hands on the PS5 remake of Demon's Souls. This is a game that many have been looking forward to, and so far, has delivered for many who have purchased the game already. Although, now it seems Sony may be on the fast track to acquiring the studio responsible for the Demon's Souls remake.

Bluepoint Games has accomplished quite a lot in a decently short timeframe. Since the release of its very first title Blast Factor, the studio has been responsible for porting and remastering older games on newer hardware. Outside of Demon's Souls, Bluepoint also remastered Shadow of the ColossusGravity Rush, and many other titles, most of which have been received favorably by the gaming community. It also seems that the studio's success has been noticed by Sony

A user by the name of MarsipanRumpan posted on a ResetEra forum that Sony is currently in talks with Bluepoint Games over some kind of acquisition deal. One thing the user stressed more than anything was that both of their sources could not confirm any concrete information, so it's important to take this news with a massive grain of salt. That being said, there is a lot of evidence to support this claim.

From Bluepoint's perspective, the studio wants to pursue an original IP so that it's not stuck remastering older titles like Uncharted or Metal Gear Solid. So, in order to do so, the studio would need support from a larger publisher, like Sony. In turn, Sony at this point is likely impressed with the work that Bluepoint has done, especially considering how most of Bluepoint's titles within the last several years have been Sony exclusive.

In any case, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for Bluepoint Games. If the word of this user is to be believed, then it seems like Bluepoint wants to do more than remake classic games, yet it would also be interesting to see what Bluepoint could make in terms of an original IP. Given how much visual spectacle has been added to each of the studio's remakes, an original game could be quite impressive.

For now, the gaming community will just have to wait and see. This is still just a rumor at this point and it's important to not jump to conclusions. Hopefully, Bluepoint is still open to the idea of remaking classic games. There is still certainly plenty in the gaming community who would love to see a remake of Legend of Dragoonfor instance.

Demon's Souls is available now exclusively for the PS5.
