The Bloodborne PC port was allegedly canceled after encountering a problem with the developer in charge of it, according to a recent rumor. This comes more than a year after a leak revealed that the Bloodborne PC port was supposedly finished.

First released in 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Bloodborne is a Soulslike action-RPG where gamers play as The Hunter, who's tasked with investigating the strange disease spreading across Yharnam. The FromSoftware title received acclaim from players and critics alike, so much so that many have requested for it to be released on PC and remastered for next-gen consoles.

However, there seems to be a new rumor suggesting that the Bloodborne PC port might be canceled. Speaking on The Wild Project podcast, Spanish streamer Baitybait said (as translated by PlayStation Lifestyle) that an unnamed source revealed that Virtuos was originally working on the Bloodborne PC port, but Sony allegedly stopped the project after it "bungled the PC port of Horizon Zero Dawn" when it was released in 2020. The streamer continued that Sony pulled in Guerilla to finish the Horizon PC port, as well as Nixxes to do the patch updates later on.

Baitybait's claims seem to contradict previous reports at Bloodborne was finally coming to PC, along with a remastered version and a sequel for the PS5, care of Bluepoint, so gamers should take this with a grain of salt. Likewise, many fans either weren't surprised that Bloodborne PC might not happen, or weren't convinced with the rumor.

While there are still no official announcement regarding Bloodborne's future, it's clear that many fans have been clamoring for a new version or sequel of the game. It came to a point that they got upset after God of War's PC port was announced as they expected Sony to do the same for the FromSoftware title. If it is true that Bloodborne PC was already finished by Bluepoint, then it might be a case of Sony looking for the right time to announce the big news.

Meanwhile, FromSoftware had a big year in 2022 with the release of Elden Ring, which won multiple accolades, including Game of the Year, from various award-giving bodies. There's also a rumor that Elden Ring might be getting a DLC. The studio might potentially have another successful year with its upcoming title Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, which is still in development and expected to launch in 2023.

Bloodborne is available on PlayStation 4.
