Eileen the Crow is an NPC in Bloodborne and a hunter of hunters, someone who is entrusted with the responsibility of slaying hunters who have become bloodthirsty and violent as a result of their beast hunting. She is an elderly woman who complains about her job but does it anyway because it is her responsibility, despite the fact that she claims she is becoming far too old for her line of work.

Regardless, Eileen is a calm and caring individual who frequently expresses great empathy and motherly concern for the player in Bloodborne. She is dressed in the Crowfeather Set and wields the Blade of Mercy in addition to the famous Hunter Pistol, and she can toss Throwing Knives on occasion. Her kind nature mixed with her harrowing job makes her an incredibly interesting character, and one that is worth learning more about for those interesting in Bloodborne's story.

Eileen is an assassin whose sworn duty is to eliminate other hunters who have been corrupted by their bloodlust. She, like the player, is from outside Yharnam and is a foreigner in the region, but her presence in the city is motivated by a completely different set of motivations. She makes a point of keeping a low profile and operating in the shadows, and the player may never meet her in the first place if they don't go out of their way to explore Yharnam.

As a Hunter of Hunters covenant member, Eileen upholds a long-standing tradition of burying the dead in the sky rather than in coffins, which she considers to be blasphemous. Further, despite her age, she is still very effective at tracking down hunters who have gone insane from the beast hunt.

Eileen can be found outside the Grand Cathedral, badly injured, near the end of her questline. She assures the hunter that she has taken blood and then admits that the hunt is too much for her and hands over her badge and the Hunter rune. After defeating the final hunter within the cathedral, leaving and returning will reveal that her body has vanished, implying that she has either died or gotten up and left. Her fate being kept vague means that it is up to the player to come up with their own interpretation of what happened to her.

Questline

The player can begin Eileen's quest on the Dry Dock - Rafters in Central Yharnam or to the left of the Oedon Chapel's front entrance in the Cathedral Ward, and their choices will determine her fate after that. Helping her defeat Henryk in the Tomb of Oedon is the turning point of her quest; failing to do so before entering the Forbidden Woods for the first time will sometimes result in her becoming their enemy, preventing them from receiving any of the subsequent rewards other than the Crow Hunter Badge. Therefore, it is best to finish the Tomb of Oeden section of the quest before continuing.

Players can kill Eileen at any time, but they will only receive the Crow Hunter Badge. This will result in her questline failing and players receiving nothing else. Unfortunately, this means that players will miss out on a unique outfit, two gestures, and a unique Oath Memory Caryll Rune. Eileen's questline will not begin unless she is spoken to in Central Yharnam or, following that, in the Cathedral Ward.
