Bloodborne is probably one of the most critically acclaimed spinoffs in gaming history. The game takes some of the best and most beloved elements from the Dark Souls series and adds just enough difference and variation to create something entirely unique. One of the things that Bloodborne took from its cousin was insanely difficult boss fights.

The bosses in Bloodborne are some of the hardest you will encounter in your time gaming but some just give you a better feeling os satisfaction after you beat them. So we are going over the 10 most satisfying Bloodborne bosses to draft.

10 Cleric Beast

The Cleric Beast is the first boss that you fight in the game, so he had to have it show up on this list first. There is always going to be something special about defeating the first boss, as you realize that it will definitely not be the hardest one that you face but that it is still a sign of things to come.

Defeating the first boss of a game will always be a unique feeling of satisfaction and the Cleric Beast definitely makes you work to defeat it.

9 Rom The Vacuous Spider

Spiders are a big fear for most people so while it might be scary to take on a giant monstrous one, killing it should still be pretty satisfying, especially since it fades away after it dies. Rom is satisfying for more reasons than that, however.

Rom himself is fairly easy to take on; his abilities to teleport and fire artillery like missiles at you that are slow and fairly easy to dodge aren't what make him dangerous, though. What makes him dangerous is his army of large spider followers.

8 Amygdala

Speaking of killing spiders, Amygdala is another boss that you could say is a spider, and arguably has more spider-like tendencies than Rom. Amygdalas can be found all across the world of Bloodborne and can actually teleport you to different locations.

When you actually fight one, though, it can be tough. An interesting thing about the Amygdala that you fight as a boss is that it is one of the few bosses that can be taken out with one hit using the right combination of stats and a magic weapon.

7 The One Reborn

The One Reborn is in many ways a callback to the classic style of boss battles that we used to get all the time in older RPGs and adventure games. You fight this boss in the large open courtyard of a chapel with multiple levels and he has minions backing him up throughout the arena.

To take out this boss, you need to deal with his minions first, while he is attacking you, making him insane challenge.

6 Shadow of Yharnam

The Shadow of Yharnam is actually three bosses instead of one, and they do the whole dark cloak and no face aesthetic some serious justice. These ringwraith lookalikes each have their own fighting style separate from the other two.

The first uses a mace and casts long-range, semi-homing fireballs, the second wields a large scimitar and a candlestick that acts as a flamethrower, and the third only has a scimitar but is extremely aggressive. After one shadow is defeated the remaining two will transform and become more dangerous, so you need to think about which one you want to take out first.

5 Celestial Emissary

Another callback to classic adventure game bosses, The Celestial Emissary has all your standard boss moves, while also looking slightly out of place in the world of Bloodborne, looking like an alien and all. This boss is optional but is definitely worth the effort in terms of loot and satisfaction.

The Celestial Emissary looks like any of its many Celestial Minions until it is attacked, at which point it will grow. The Emissary will then spawn and send endless waves at you until killed.

4 Micolash, Host of the Nightmare

If this was a list of the most annoying characters in Bloodborne, then this guy might just top the list. When Micolash is first encountered, he will run away from the player, taunting as you chase him.

This makes you really want to hurt him and eventually you get the chance as he drops into a round square room where he can't run away. But it turns out that Micolash is fairly tough and has a spell that is nearly impossible to dodge as it shoots large missiles across the entire room.

3 Ludwig The Accursed/Holy Blade

Ludwig is a character that is referenced heavily throughout the original-release version of Bloodborne and in the game's DLC, The Old Hunters, where he makes an appearance as a boss. Ludwig is a gigantic hybrid monstrosity who has two phases, the first where he acts the way his design would imply, like a savage animal.

The second is when he regains his sanity and returns to being Ludwig the Holy Blade and he becomes even harder. Ludwig is considered one of the hardest bosses in the entire game.

2 Gehrman, the First Hunter

Gehrman is the character that acts as our guide and mentor in ways throughout the game and when we finally complete the game, we return to the hunter's dream and Gehrman gives us a few options.

One of these options forces him to fight us. The weird thing about Bloodborne is that bosses tend to get harder the smaller they are and Gehrman as a boss shows that really well. He can do everything that you can do, but faster and more hard-hitting and he will be a test of all of your abilities, so be ready.

1 Moon Presence

The Moon Presence is a secret boss in the game that you can fight immediately after defeating Gehrman if you have consumed three-thirds of the Umbilical Cords that you can find throughout the game. The Moon Presence is the most direct reference the game has to H.P. Lovecraft's creatures and it's power level reflects that.

Its attacks are quick and erratic making it hard to find patterns and read. This added in with it being a secret boss, makes the most satisfying to take down in all of Bloodborne.
