If there’s anything true in the gaming industry, it’s that rumors are practically everywhere, and many of them are false. It’s easy to see any Bloodborne rumor, for instance, and not believe a word of it because of how many there have been. One good rule of thumb is that all rumors live and die by their source, which adds credence to the latest Bloodborne rumor to come out.

About a week ago, Colin Moriarty stated that the recently acquired Bluepoint Games is bringing a Bloodborne remaster to PS5, but that Bluepoint is making also making Bloodborne 2. On the other hand, Bluepoint Games is also reportedly making its own original game, so there are clearly some potentially contradicting rumors (though Bloodborne 2 would be an original game). Now, XboxEra’s Nick Baker has stepped into the conversation, reportedly offering proof for his own claims.

According to Baker, Bluepoint is making the PS5 remaster for Bloodborne, is developing a proper sequel to Bloodborne, and has already finished the PC port for Bloodborne and is simply waiting to release it. That’s a lot to claim, but for those who are unaware, XboxEra’s Nick Baker is a trustworthy leaker. He has previously leaked everything from PS Plus titles to God of War: Ragnarok’s presence at the last Sony event. As such, while any rumor should be taken with a grain of salt, he is a reliable source.

Furthermore, when Baker’s rumor mill was posted to the Gaming Leaks subreddit by a fan, one of its mods commented revealing that Baker had shared this info with the subreddit’s mods before. The mod claims Baker offered evidence that he was told all three of these things, which isn’t the same as evidence these three things actually existing, but there’s little reason to doubt Baker.

The mods also stated that Backer, at the time, said the Bloodborne remaster had been in development for about 7 months and is currently feature complete. The reasoning for the Bloodborne PC port “being sat on” was also revealed to the mod, with it supposedly making a lot of sense. Another user asked if it was to get distance from Elden Ring's upcoming release, to which the mod replied, “something like that. Can’t say specifically, unfortunately.”

Bloodborne 2 on PS5 being made by Bluepoint Games would be a huge surprise given that FromSoftware made the first game, but it’s also known that Sony owns the Bloodborne IP, making this possible. Given the credibility here, perhaps fans will learn more about these projects in the coming months.

Bloodborne 2 is rumored to be in development.
