In recent years, Bloober Team has made a name for itself in the horror genre. That's why many were excited when its partnership with Konami was announced, as it was too reported that Bloober Team is working on a Silent Hill game. It remains to be seen what exactly comes of this partnership, but it seems horror fans, and Bloober Team fans specifically, are not going to have any shortages in coming years.

By looking at the EU Projects section of the developer's website, fans have noticed that there are three unannounced games currently in the works at Bloober Team. Each of these games (codenamed H20, Black, and Dum Spiro) were funded by the European Union and go far back as 2016. Notably, just because these games were funded doesn't mean the game didn't become something else. Fans should take these games with a grain of salt until Bloober Team officially announces them, but as it stands, there's a lot of Bloober Team-focused horror on the horizon.

Going from its EU Projects page to the Creative Europe's page reveals some basics regarding each of these games. Funded in 2018, Project H20 is noted to be Layers of Fear 3, with inspiration coming from the original game. There will be some element of player choice, as well as technology focused on immersion in the new game. Project Black is something seemingly out of left field, utilizing common horror elements but not sounding like something up Bloober Team's typical alley, as it is described as a "medieval horror game with melee combat, aliens, and a choice system."

Layers Of Fear

Project Black will focus on an adult story, the dark aspects of faith and humanity, and aliens "as catalyst for character development." The Creative Europe page even goes so far as to compare its more historical setting to Assassin's Creed, allowing for multiple spin-offs of this new game or would-be franchise. This particular project was funded in 2019, while Dum Spiro (a horror game in Poland) was funded in 2016.

As the oldest project, it sounds more akin to the Bloober Team formula than Project Black, but it will involve a choice system, a fifth wall, and exploration of the psychological state of the character (in this case, an imprisoned boy trying to save his sister). Some of the details for Dum Spiro make it sound a lot like Bloober's most recent game, The Medium, but it's worth mentioning that The Medium has its own Creative Europe page. Furthermore, The Medium was an idea as far back as 2012, but it wasn't until Microsoft provided early kits for the Xbox Series X that Bloober Team realized The Medium was finally possible.

Overall, it'll be interesting to see what becomes or what became of these projects, but between Layers of Fear 3, Project Black, Dum Spiro, and a potential Silent Hill game, it seems safe to say that a lot of eyes are on Bloober Team.

Bloober Team reportedly has multiple projects in development.
