Today, Blizzard announced that tickets for its fifth annual BlizzCon gaming convention will go on sale in two batches for $150 each. The first batch is on Wednesday, June 2 at 7pm PST. The second batch is on Saturday, June 5, 2010at 10am PST. Expect to see plenty of Warcraft, Diablo, and StarCraft related events. The two-day convention will contain Q&A panels featuring developers, social events for players, hands-on gameplay featuring your favorite games, casual and competitive tournaments, and more.

Mike Morhaime, CEO and co-founder of Blizzard had this to say of the event:

“BlizzCon is a unique opportunity for our players to meet one another, strengthen the friendships they’ve formed online, and have a great time celebrating a shared passion for gaming together with Blizzard employees. For those who can’t attend, we’re pleased to be providing an unprecedented level of access to the activities and attractions that BlizzCon has to offer.”

BlizzCon will be held October 22-23 in Anaheim, California. If you are unable to attend, DIRECTV will televise coverage from the show floor, interviews, and demos. As a Pay Per View event, there will be a $39.95 price tag. For the same amount, there will also be a multi-channel live internet stream. Tickets can be bought at Blizzcon.com. Keep in mind that you must have a Battle.net account created in order to purchase them.

Keep in mind that tickets last year sold out in a matter of minutes, so if you’re interested in attending you’ll need to be ready precisely when the tickets go on sale. Are you considering going to BlizzCon this year?
