Based on the current schedule for BlizzCon 2019, it seems like Blizzard is shaping up to reveal 6 new game announcements at the event. It's also clear that there's no shortage of demand, with fans from various Blizzard IPs like Overwatch and Diablo hoping for respective announcements, but there's more on the line with this BlizzCon as well. Given the PR debacle of last year and the recent Hong Kong controversy, it's a good time to showcase the future of the company.

Before moving forward, it's worth mentioning that most of this falls in the rumor category, and Blizzard has yet to publicly announce what it will be unveiling. Some of these certainly seem like a lock, but it's best to temper expectations until BlizzCon 2019 occurs.

Overwatch 2

Out of every possibility, Overwatch 2 seems like a shoe-in, especially after rumored details were seemingly confirmed by ESPN. Details about a 4-player PvE mode set in Rio, a new progression system for heroes, the inclusion of Hero 32, a new map set in Toronto, and a new game mode called Push seem hard to conjure out of thin air. Assuming this is the case, there are a lot of questions about the current state of Overwatch, as this is rumored to be more of a rebrand like Fortnite Chapter 2, but hopefully, Blizzard will answer these questions come November 1.

Diablo 4

After last year's debacle over Diablo Immortal, it stands to reason that many fans will want to be cautious about the possibility of a Diablo 4 announcement. However, it was reportedly pulled last minute last year (although Blizzard has denied this), and along with new images of Lilith, there's a good chance it'll be there this year. It's also perhaps Blizzard's best chance to erase as much of last year as it can from people's memory, as Diablo 4 would be a big announcement, indeed.

Diablo 2 Remastered

Rumors about a remaster of the critically-acclaimed Diablo 2 have been circulating for quite some time, but a recent reputable leaker has also put this on the cards for this year. He was correct about a lot of info last year, including the announcement of Ashe for Overwatch, and he seems to be keeping up his track record with Overwatch 2 as well. While little else has been said about Diablo 2 Remastered, when paired with Diablo 4, it would create a lot of hype for fans of the franchise.

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Expansion

Fans of World of Warcraft expect an announcement concerning the future of the MMORPG at BlizzCon 2019, with a leak stating that it will be a reveal of an expansion dubbed Shadowlands. Reportedly, it'll have something to do with the Lich King, as supposed merchandise displays a unique image of Bolvar. On top of this, it would also make sense to dive a little into World of Warcraft Classic.

Warcraft 3 Reforged Release Date

Announced back at BlizzCon 2018, it seems likely that something concerning Warcraft 3: Reforged will be revealed, with many leaning toward a release date and beta reveal. This comes after a recent Warcraft 3 datamine, so the rumors hold a little water. Plus, seeing as how it has received the silent treatment ever since, BlizzCon 2019 makes the perfect place for more to be revealed.

Surprise?!

While it's hard to look away from leaks and rumors about forthcoming announcement, there will still hopefully be a few surprises in store at BlizzCon. Of course, what those are remains to be seen, but if Blizzard hit all these fan requests and also introduced something new, it would be a BlizzCon to be remembered.

BlizzCon 2019 is scheduled to take place November 1 through November 3.
