Today, Blizzard will be riding high on the fact that its games are doing so well. The company has 46 million active monthly players across Hearthstone, Overwatch, World of Warcraft, and the rest of its games, with players continuing to spend on unlocking content within these titles as well.

Despite its continued success, Blizzard has no plans to rest on its laurels, according to president and co-founder Mike Morhaime. Speaking during the latest Activision financial call, the executive revealed, "In terms of new IP, our pipeline is in a better position than ever before in our history. we're committed to incubating new initiatives." Morhaime went on to explain that Blizzard has "multiple dedicated incubation teams that are being led by some of our most experienced game designers."

This is incredibly exciting for fans of the company's work, but Morhaime noted that "creating new, Blizzard-quality games on any platform will take time." The executive also stressed, "We're not going to release any games that we don't feel live up to our expectations or those of our players." Blizzard has been known to cancel projects that are quite far along in development because it is unsatisfied with them, such as the Titan MMO.

Although the projects may never be commercially released, Blizzard may have already revealed some information about these games. Recent job listings hinted that a shooter game is in the works at the company and that it may be in first-person. The incubation team responsible for that title will have a tough task on its hands making sure that it's different to Overwatch and that could be one reason why it takes so long to release.

Others will also want to know whether future Blizzard games have any eSports potential. From Hearthstone tournaments to the upcoming Overwatch League and from Heroes of the Storm to StarCraft 2, Blizzard games have a big eSports following, and many will wonder whether that will be the focus going forward. ESports can be incredibly lucrative for a company and can also help to get more people talking about a game.

But no matter the style and tone of Blizzard's new games, all eyes will be on the company to see what it will do next. It has built up its fan base by creating consistently good games over the years, and everyone wants to know if its next game will continue the positive trend.

It will be interesting to see what Blizzard has up its sleeves for the future.
