Overwatch 2 Executive Producer Jared Neuss confirms plans to improve communication with players ahead of the big changes coming inside of Season 3. Since it launched back in October, it has been a rollercoaster of a ride for Overwatch 2. The game stumbled hard out of the gate suffering from huge server and login issues, leaving players frustrated until a proper fix was made a couple days later. In response, Blizzard sent all Overwatch 2 players a free gift including a legendary Reaper Skin.

In the months since, Overwatch 2 has seen plenty of content including limited time events like Battle For Olympus, though not everything has been a hit with the playerbase. As a free to play live service title, Overwatch 2 is always changing and evolving, though communicating those changes isn't always the easiest. Not all updates have been seen as a positive from players, including recent changes to the support hero Moira. However, it seems Blizzard has a plan to address how it keeps fans informed.

In response to a fan on Twitter, Executive Producer Jared Neuss not only confirmed that major changes are coming to Overwatch 2 in Season 3, including the much maligned 30 percent carryover in ultimate charge when switching heroes. From there, the conversation quickly turned to how Blizzard will be improving their lines of communication with fans, with Neuss acknowledging that the company needs better ways to talk to players when issues like this arrive.

Thankfully, Neuss went on to outline how the company plans to do just that. In an effort to put all communication in a singular location, and making it much easier to find, Blizzard is planning on making weekly or biweekly communications, likely similar to what Bungie does with its Destiny 2 blog posts. Neuss also went on to admit that this topic took a bit of a backseat due to the Overwatch 2 launch as well as plans for 2023, but now there are people actively working on getting this set up and out the door sooner than later. For now, no timetable has been set.

The news should please fans, especially in advance of Season 3, which will be the first without a new hero. In addition to new maps, Season 3 is also promising adjustments to the controversial progression system and earnable cosmetics, but specifics on these changes remains under wraps for now.

Overwatch 2 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
