It's incredible to look back and see how far the gaming industry has come in just the past few years. Looking back, it's amazing to see just how far some companies have come.

It's a wonder to think that the gaming Goliath that has come to be known as Blizzard was, 20 years ago, just another small company created by two men with a passion for gaming.

For their 20th anniversary, Blizzard co-founders Mike Morhaime and Frank Pearce put together a short video to thank the people who helped them get where they are now: The fans.

Without their support, Blizzard would have never developed into the universally known name it is now.

Founded on February 8, 1991 by Mike and Frank, the company was originally called Silicon & Synapse. Their first big break came with games like The Lost Vikings and Rock 'n' Roll Racing. It wouldn't be long before they went on to start one of the most iconic RTS series in the industry with Warcraft: Orcs and Humans. The rest is history.

With heavy-hitters such as World Of Warcraft, Starcraft 2 and the upcoming Diablo 3 all going strong, there's no sign of Blizzard slowing down any time soon - despite all the grief that can arise with such a large fanbase.

Regardless, it's always refreshing to see a company that understands how they have come to be who they are today - and it's even better to see just how appreciative they are to their fans. It's no wonder Blizzard commands such a large, devoted fanbase.
