Blightbound, the multiplayer dungeon crawler from Awesomenauts creator Ronimo Games, has been delivering an optimal Early Access. In the first two months of Blightbound's availability, Ronimo dropped 4 major updates with smaller updates between. In the months since, Blightbound has continued to grow rapidly, but now Ronimo is readying for its final sprint. Today, Blightbound's 0.7 Final Charge update launched, the last update before Early Access ends and full release arrives.

Final Charge is the biggest Blightbound update yet. It starts with the new playable character Commander Clegg, a sword and shield-wielding Warrior that can summon a legion of allies. After that is the new Blightrift challenge rooms that can rarely spawn in high-level dungeons, offering Blightbound's newest and rarest tier of loot as a reward. Rounding out the update are five new Legendary items, including the winner of the Blightbound item contest, improvements to the AI for allied bots, and a more approachable and useful tutorial.

In addition to these major features additions and changes, Ronimo has made a significant amount of smaller adjustments and fixes. These include multiplayer bugs that could freeze an online session, create infinite loading screens, cause disconnects, and other assorted issues. Blightbound will hopefully be in its most-polished state yet.

The biggest news of the Final Charge update is, of course, that it's Blightbound's final Early Access content update. There may be hotfix updates as necessary, but otherwise, Ronimo is focused on launch. The tentative release window is prior to Q3, so late spring or early summer, but a specific release date isn't planned yet and there's always the possibility of a delay. Expect Blightbound 1.0 to receive a ton more content and then future updates post-launch, too. This is just the start for Blightbound.

Blightbound is available in Early Access now on PC.
