A couple of days ago, Ninja Theory's Bleeding Edge leaked online. And now the game has been officially confirmed, serving as one of the first games Xbox revealed at its E3 2019 press conference.

The Bleeding Edge trailer shown at E3 2019 is the same trailer that leaked a couple of days ago, albeit in much higher quality than the leaked footage. For those unfamiliar with the game, Bleeding Edge is a 4v4 online multiplayer game starring a cast of unique characters that brings to mind titles like Overwatch. It's been in development for a few years now at Ninja Theory, and will be coming to both PC and Xbox One at some point in the future.

An official release date wasn't nailed down for Bleeding Edge at E3 2019, but fans will actually have the chance to try it out later this month. That's because Ninja Theory is hosting a technical alpha on June 27, the feedback from which it will use to inform development on the game moving forward. Hopefully this technical alpha will help the studio iron out any issues with the game so it can launch with minimal issues.

After Ninja Theory's critically-acclaimed Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice was a single-player only game, many were expecting the studio's next title to follow suit. It seems that the reception to Bleeding Edge so far has been fairly mixed, as some are disappointed that Ninja Theory isn't continuing with another single player game.

However, other people seem to be excited for Bleeding Edge, and many have compared it favorably to titles like Overwatch. Whether or not it will be able to reach the same levels of success as Overwatch remains to be seen, but we should have a better idea of how it plays when the technical alpha test launches on June 27.

Bleeding Edge is in development for PC and Xbox One.
