Orihime Inoue is far from being the typical damsel in distress of Bleach. She has been gifted a potent pair of blue floral hairclips by her brother (although it is the almighty Hōgyoku who blessed her with the corresponding magical capabilities.) The segments of Orihime's accessories can break off when needed, and each transform into a Spirit with different capabilities, all determined to protect their ward (and her friends) at any cost. Orihime's Spirits are collectively referred to as Shun Shun Rikka, which translates to "Six Flowers of the Hibiscus Shield."

Each Spirit's effectiveness is directly proportional to their master's emotional capacity (which often doesn't bode well for Orihime's self-doubting passive personality.) Apart from her offensive "fairy" (pun intended), these entities have to team up for their abilities to work. They therefore cannot be assessed based on individual power. Alternatively, Orihime's Spirits will be ranked by their likeability, character design, and usefulness.

This article will not contain spoilers from Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War, currently streaming on Hulu.

6 Ayame, Shy and Sweet

Bleach: Orihime's Strongest Spirits Ayame Shun Shun Rikka

Ayame is a well-utilized little Spirit from Orihime's forces. However, her reserved and timid nature hasn't allowed the Bleach fandom much opportunity to get well acquainted with this individual. She arguably has the most in common with her master, as Ayame would rather remain on the sidelines than be thrust into the spotlight.

In her oversized cocoon of a dress, Ayama partners up with Shun'ou to mend wounds with their Sōten Kisshun skillset, which technically has no healing properties, despite appearances. As opposed to magically rehabilitating injuries, Orihime essentially reverses time with this technique, eliminating any harm recently inflicted upon the target's body and can even restore missing appendages (like an "autosave" of sorts).

5 Hinagiku, Intense and Emphatic

Bleach: Orihime's Strongest Spirits Hinagiku Shun Shun Rikka

Hinagiku does not speak often, but when he does, he ensures that his presence is known. This highly-excitable Spirit seems to have his volume switch stuck on full blast and tends to shout every word, no matter the context, which the quiet Orihime often finds alarming.

This bold individual possesses almost vampiric features. He is a big fan of dramatic hand gestures (and polka-dots too, it seems.) Hinagiku is part of the defensive team of shield generators with a move known as Santen Kesshun. He is also a vital component of Orihime's powerful four-man combo, Shiten Kōshun.

4 Baigon, Strong and Silent

Bleach: Orihime's Strongest Spirits Baigon Shun Shun Rikka

The big boy of the group is not the most talkative guy around. He would rather save his energy for the battlefield than waste it on menial interactions. Considering Baigon's massive bulk, it is no surprise that he is part of the defensive team in Orihime's arsenal.

Baigon's facemask does not appear to be medical, but rather aims to intimidate in a Bane-like manner (although the cute pink flowers don't exactly help in that matter). His Friar Tuck-inspired wardrobe suggests that Baigon is not the sharpest crayon in the box. However, his loyalty and courage are what count the most.

3 Lily, Cute and Courageous

Bleach: Orihime's Strongest Spirits Lily Shun Shun Rikka

Lily has the most distinctive style in the group and is not afraid of bold colors or risque fashion choices. Her patterned appendage gives her the appearance of a pink crab spider, while her friendly face is a reminder that there is nothing to fear. Lily is technically the only female "fairy" to advance to the frontlines when she joins Baigon and Hinagiku to form the Santen Kesshun shield.

This spunky Spirit's assistance is also required for Shiten Kōshun to work. Her original two teammates create a defensive triangular shield around Tsubaki. Together, they can absorb any attack inflicted upon it and essentially redirect it back towards the enemy.

2 Tsubaki, Arrogant and Aggressive

Bleach: Orihime's Strongest Spirits Tsubaki Shun Shun Rikka

Viewers know that things are about to get intense when Tsubaki takes the spotlight. This feisty "fairy" is solely responsible for his ward's physical attacks. However, his power potential is severely limited by Orihime's passive personality. He often tries to rile his master up in the hopes of sparking her temper, which would grant Tsubaki greater power to play with.

Tsubaki's main move, Koten Zanshun, is essentially a defensive move with a sadistic twist, and has even been dubbed the "Cutting Shield." At Orihime's command, Tsubaki (who can slice through basically anything imaginable) hurdles straight at the enemy and then begins to erect a shield, from inside the foe's body. The energy displacement essentially severs the target into two pieces. However, if Orihime's killing intent is not fueling the attack, Tsubaki can become relatively useless on the battlefield.

1 Shun'ou, Cordial and Considerate

Bleach: Orihime's Strongest Spirits Shun'ou Shun Shun Rikka

Shun'ou is the first Spirit that Orihime officially meets. He lands on her shoulder to calm her nerves when the "fairies" first appear to her during a Hollow fight. Shun'ou acts as the spokesperson of sorts for the Spirits and interacts with Orihime the most. (Except when violence is required; then it's Tsubaki's turn to take the lead.)

Shun'ou is best known for his charming personality, permanent smile, and gender-fluid fashion sense. He is one-half of the healing duo who carry out Orihime's "godly" time-reversal healing technique, Soten Kisshun. This restorative dome that Shun'ou and Ayame produce will protect its occupants (with a max of two seats available), while reverting their bodies back to a pre-injured state.
