As Halloween inches closer by the day, many are likely wondering what new games to play to honor the spooky season. Of course, there's already a number of utterly terrifying new releases set to launch in the next few weeks, including Amnesia: Rebirth, Remothered: Broken Porcelainand The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope.

Announced by Bloober Team today, it seems another experience will be joining these creepy new titles, with the team revealing that a VR take on 2019's Blair Witch will be hitting Oculus Quest. The game, which has been re-designed to thrive in a virtual reality space, will launch just in time for Halloween, hitting the Oculus Store on October 29 for $29.99.

Alongside the announcement, Bloober Team has debuted a short trailer that shows off the kind of gameplay players can expect from the upcoming Blair Witch: Oculus Quest Edition. While the visuals are noticeably less impressive than those featured in the original release, the moment to moment gameplay looks to be a fun reinvention of the base experience, with the footage highlighting how players can better interact with elements of the environment. The trailer alone shows the player giving items to Bullet to smell, drawing on a map with a marker, and picking up story-focused notes to read without the need for a menu.

It looks to be a fun new way to play Bloober Team's recent horror adaptation, allowing players to become more immersed in Blair Witch's narrative than ever before. For those who didn't catch the game's original release on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One, the title follows war veteran Ellis Lynch and his dog Bullet searching the Burkittsville forest for a missing child. As anyone who's seen the iconic horror film the game's based on will no doubt assume, things don't exactly go to plan, with Lynch soon having to deal with the titular Blair Witch.

The game's release was a big moment for Bloober Team, who got to put its signature blend of unnerving, creepy horror and engaging, environmental puzzle-solving on show while tackling one of the horror genre's most iconic properties. Bringing the game to VR seems to be the next major step for the developer, who can now show players how much scarier the world of Blair Witch is when they're fully immersed in it. Alongside the virtual reality take on the 2019 game, Bloober Team is also currently working on a new game titled The MediumIt looks to be yet another unsettling experience from the steadily growing development team, with the composer of Silent Hill joining the project to ensure it's as terrifying as humanly possible.

Blair Witch: Oculus Quest Edition will be available on October 29.
