Surviving the darkness and horror of the forest is what makes Blacktail exciting and intriguing. The game is full of lore to explore and secrets to uncover. Yaga starts off her journey with nothing but a bow and a bunch of Arrows, but as she progresses through the game, she gains more weapons and Skills that enhance her explorations in Blacktail.
Furthermore, upgrading Yaga’s Skills is the easiest step players can make to gain more abilities and enhance the bow's usability. Various Arrows can be used with the bow, such as using Sticky Arrows for bombs and Crystal Arrows for shattering crystals.
How To Upgrade Yaga Skills In Blacktail
To upgrade Yaga’s Skills in Blacktail, use The Cauldron at The Hut to brew the necessary ingredients. The Cauldron can brew all kinds of recipes that enhance Yaga’s vitality, Arrows, Hocus, mana, and potions. Some Skills fall under a certain Hex category and unlocking a number of Skills under the same category provides Yaga with a buff in Blacktail. Even though a couple of Skills are obtained while completing the game's main events, most recipes are locked and require a Lost Page. Keep in mind that every Skill cannot be activated without a Tooth, as it is the main ingredient.
In some cases, Skills can vary depending on Yaga’s Mortality title, so players should be careful when picking sides and interacting with the forest' inhabitants. Also, Yaga’s Skills can only be enhanced at The Hut, so as soon as players acquire a Skill’s recipe, they should teleport back and activate it.
How To Get The Lost Page
The Lost Pages are the sheets that contain the recipes of the locked Skills in Blacktail. Players can obtain them by completing the events of the main or side quests, like unlocking the Sticky Arrows recipe after slaying Peewee in Blacktail.
Moreover, Lost Pages can also be found when Yaga opens normal chests, Chest Beasts, and Warden Treasures. The latter depends on Yaga’s Mortality title, as they don’t open unless Yaga acquires certain titles like Queen, Favorite, and Specialist. In most cases, Chest Beasts are unlocked once Yaga defeats their beast guardians.
How To Get The Tooth
The Tooth is found inside almost every normal chest or beast’s chests. While some reward one Tooth, other chests reward three. In some cases, the chest will seem unreachable while exploring at the beginning of the game. But that’s okay since it will be within reach later on, as unlocking some chests may depend on acquiring a certain Skill.
How To Get The Recipe’s Ingredients
The required ingredients are found all over the map and players can simply collect them from the forest grounds. Here is how players can find these ingredients:
- Red Herb: Collected from the forest ground.
- Eye: Rewarded after slaying a poisonous spider.
- Wood: Found on the forest ground.
- Feathers: Collected from the forest ground.
- Honey: Offering the bees flowers or found on the forest ground.
- Crystals: Dashing over a Vodniks and shattering crystals.
- Shellock: Found resting on the tree branches, shoot them to be able to collect them.
Depending on the Hex selected in Skill's menu, a variety of ingredients can be collected after slaying enemies.
In the Skill menu, Yaga's storage capacity can be upgraded, so don't worry if she can only hold a few resources now, she will be able to hold more later.
