With the much-awaited Black Widow finally arriving in theaters in less than a month, Marvel Studios has released exclusive footage and a special featurette from the upcoming Scarlett Johansson flick. That’s not all, the studio also announced that tickets for the highly anticipated movie are also now on sale for its July theatrical release.

Fans of one of the most prominent Avengers, Black Widow, had a lot to look forward to on Friday as Marvel posted multiple videos on its social media channels related to the upcoming film. With the film arriving in cinemas soon, it isn’t surprising that Marvel has suddenly decided to release multiple clips from the movie. It is a part of the studio’s marketing campaign for the film that critics have already predicted to be a blockbuster.

One of the highlights in the first video is the scene of Black Widow going up against the Taskmaster. As she jumps from a significant height, with nothing but a parachute, you expect a skydiving scene to follow. But suddenly the Taskmaster appears, leading to an exciting mid-air battle. In the comics, the mercenary has the ability to mimic the movements of all the heroes he witnesses, so seeing him go up against the Black Widow should be thrilling.

Another exclusive clip features Natasha Romanoff and her adoptive sister Yelena Belova, played by Florence Pugh, as they try to escape from other Black Widow agents, who seem to be hunting them down. While some of the moments from the clip were seen in the official trailer for the film, the video offers an in-depth look at the action-packed sequence as the sisters are attacked.

In the special featurette, Johansson is heard saying that the film is something that the MCU has “never experienced before.” All the new and exclusive footage is action-packed, with several explosions, colliding vehicles, and multiple shots of hand-to-hand combat. Johansson reveals that the film will have some of the “most intense fights in the MCU.”  David Harbour, who plays the role of Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian, is also in on the action. A scene in the featurette shows him in a prison setting, where a massive fight seems to have broken out. Harbour reveals that there were around 400 extras present on set that day to shoot the “enormous fight scene.”

However, action isn't everything that the film will offer. It also brings out Black Widow's emotional side, wherein fans will get to see her as more of a human, and not just a superhero. The film will see her confront “the darker parts” of her life and tackle her complicated relationships before she goes on to become a part of the Avengers. After a decade of appearing in MCU films, Natasha Romanoff is finally getting a chance to “write her own story.”

Black Widow will be released in theaters and the Disney Plus Premier Access service on July 9, 2021.
