Zack Snyder's Justice League is easily one of the most heavily advertised superhero flicks of the past year or so, with countless hints and teasers being dropped week after week by the man himself. Though audiences have now seen quite a few sneak previews of what Snyder's final cut will look like, it's easy to forget that some time ago the only real news people had was a very small scene of Superman in a different suit.

In one of the earliest discussions about the Snyder Cut becoming an official project, Snyder was permitted to release a very small clip of something that he had filmed, but didn't get a chance to put in the original cut of Justice League. According to most sources, there was quite a lot of material that was left behind when Joss Whedon took over, and a big part of the Snyder Cut is taking all that footage and re-editing it into the film.

The missing footage includes everything from extended character interactions, cut subplots involving Cyborg, and even the legendary DC villain Darkseid. One of the earliest things Snyder showed off however, was a pretty simple scene featuring Henry Cavill's Superman wearing a new version of the Superman suit, a completely black one.

This small detail is actually a rather significant reference to the original Death of Superman comic book storyline. In that story arc, Superman is killed by Doomsday but eventually returns to life. When he does he dons a black Superman suit that not only differentiates him from his pre-death appearance but supposedly focuses his energy and allows him to recover from the long-term damage he suffered.

At the time the scene was shared over a livestream during an interview, which was great for those watching along, but meant that the footage was not easily available in a high quality format. Thankfully, however, the Justice Con Youtube channel has recently uploaded the footage shared at their interview in HD, finally making it easily shareable online.

Those who are looking to hype themselves up for the final release could do a lot worse than this clip, it showcases a never-before-seen part of the film directly from Snyder himself. Anyone who'd rather wait, however, won't have to wait a whole lot longer, as the full film will be on HBO Max very soon.

Zack Snyder's Justice League will premiere on March 18th, 2021.
