Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's emotional first trailer dropped back in July during San Diego Comic-Con, and much of the talk is still circulating around who the mysterious person donning the Black Panther suit could be. Well, before Black Panther 2's second trailer dropped, star Letitia Wright has addressed the growing topic.

After the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman back in August 2020, it was unclear what direction the sequel would take, and if there would even be another Black Panther hero. Following the first Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer's release, fans were at least given more details on the highly anticipated sequel, but were still left wondering one thing: who is wearing the suit?

Speaking with Empire for an interview before the second Black Panther 2 trailer, Wright, who is reprising her role as Shuri, addressed who is taking up the mantle of the titular hero in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. "That’s a tricky question to answer," she said. "I had a chat about it with Ryan [Coogler, the director] and Chad when we were making Black Panther, and we touched on it briefly. When I realised I was playing Shuri, it was something that I really looked forward to."

Wright also discussed the sequel on a more personal level, sharing how her role helped with her real-life experiences. "Shuri's journey has allowed me to grieve, to cry, to laugh, and to gain strength that I never thought I could ever have," she said. "Trials and tribulations make you who you are. You either fold or you get up and go again. I feel like Shuri kept looking at me every day, asking me if I was gonna fold or go again. And I just kept going until healing started to happen for me."

It's obviously no surprise Wright kept Black Panther: Wakanda Forever details on the down low, as Marvel Studios is keen on letting the mystery build up until a film's release. But knowing the many diehard fans who will continuously search for plot clues and other slip-ups, it's still possible fans may have their answer regarding the mysterious hero before seeing the film.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will center on Wakanda trying to find a sense of stability following the passing of King T'Challa, as leaders of the powerful nation are also tasked with fighting invading forces. Other returning cast members include Lupita Nyong'o as Nakia, Danai Gurira as Okoye, Angela Bassett as Ramonda, Winston Duke as M'Baku, and Martin Freeman as Everett K. Ross. New additions include Tenoch Huerta as Namor, Michaela Coel as Aneka and Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams/Ironheart.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is finally set to arrive in theatres on November 11th, 2022.
