Black Panther: Wakanda Forever filming has been paused as one of the movie's stars continues to rest and recuperate from an injury she suffered in August. Letitia Wright's injury was first suffered in late-August and at the time, Marvel claimed that it didn't believe the actor getting hurt would impact the shooting schedule for the Black Panther movie sequel.

Shooting for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has been generating quite a few headlines since production officially began. While some of those headlines have been positive news about who will be included in the new film, there's also been some controversy surrounding the project. That includes a round of backlash against Letitia Wright after she seemed to come out against the COVID-19 vaccine. However, it's important to note that this pause in production and her injury has nothing to do with her purported stance on the vaccine and has everything to do with how the actress was hurt while performing a stunt in Boston.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Black Panther star left the set and headed home to London in order to try and recover. While Wright has been in London for the last few months, Wakanda Forever has been shooting scenes that don't require her character, Shuri to be involved. On the big screen, Wright plays the sister of the Black Panther, T’Challa. While the plot of the movie is not entirely known, it's thought that Shuri will be more front and center with T'Challa's absence following the death of Chadwick Boseman.

Wakanda Forever has been mostly filming in and around Atlanta since Wright's injury. However, it's said that all of the footage that can be shot without the actress has now been completed. Because she is still not ready to return to action, the production has been put on pause. The official shutdown and pause are expected to take place the week of Thanksgiving. At that point, people involved in the movie will go home to take a bit of a break in anticipation of restarting in early 2022.

For her part, a representative told The Hollywood Reporter that Wright doesn't foresee any problems returning to the set of Wakanda Forever when everyone else does next year. It doesn't appear as if this pause is expected to delay the release of the new Black Panther film any more than it's already been pushed back. Originally slated for a July 2022 release, the film is now set for a November debut.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is due in theaters on November 11, 2022.
