Last month, Activision finally pulled the curtain back on the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War campaign, with an exciting trailer that confirmed the return of fan favorite characters like Frank Woods and Alex Mason. Now Activision has released the Black Ops Cold War multiplayer trailer, confirming maps, gameplay features, and more.

The Black Ops Cold War multiplayer trailer footage was captured on a PlayStation 5 console, accentuating the ongoing relationship between Call of Duty and PlayStation. The footage showcased different locations players will explore, while highlighting some new features that players will be able to try out.

As expected, the Black Ops Cold War multiplayer experience is set in 1983, during the Cold War. Players will be able to visit maps set in Miami, the North Atlantic ocean, Angola, Uzbekistan, and the Ural Mountains. These locations will feature a variety of different ways players can maneuver across them, including ziplines and map-specific vehicles.

For example, the map in the North Atlantic ocean features jet skis and boats, whereas the Angola desert map has vehicles appropriate for a desert setting. The Uzbekistan snow map, which was previously mentioned in a previous Black Ops Cold War leak, has snowmobiles and even tanks for players to utilize. And finally, the Ural Mountains map is set in a mountain forest, with players able to use dirtbikes to get around.

Besides showing off a variety of the vehicles that players will be able to use in the Black Ops Cold War multiplayer, the trailer also offered a glimpse at some of the weapons players will be able to use as well. The standard weapons players would expect from a Call of Duty game are on display, as well as an impressive-looking grenade launcher. Needless to say, Black Ops Cold War will have a considerable arsenal for players to utilize in the online multiplayer battlefields.

The Black Ops Cold War multiplayer trailer concluded by reminding fans about the game's pre-order bonuses. Those that pre-order Black Ops Cold War digitally on PS4 will be able to play the beta on October 8, with the beta coming to PC and Xbox One at a later date. Not only that, but those that pre-order Black Ops Cold War will get instant access to the Frank Woods Operator bundle for use in both Modern Warfare and the Warzone battle royale.

The Black Ops Cold War multiplayer beta should give fans a chance to try it out ahead of launch. It will be interesting to see how fans react to all the changes coming in the new game.
