Call of Duty: Black Ops is an indie title that many gamers have probably never heard of (not), but the few individuals who own the game will probably be ecstatic to learn that Activision and Treyarch will be releasing a brand new map pack for it. The new map pack is titled Annihilation and it features a total of five new maps for players to run around on and shoot each other — or zombies.

The recent reveal of the latest add-on for Black Ops isn’t a very surprising one after promotional photos of the new Annihilation DLC leaked yesterday, but now we have the full reveal of what CoD fans can expect to be playing next. Four of the maps in Annihilation are standard multiplayer maps that can be played online with friends and foes alike. The new maps in question are Hangar 18, Drive-In, Silo and Hazard, and each one features a neat redeeming quality that will keep gamers coming back for more.

The new Black Ops trailer takes gamers behind the scenes of Annihilation and it can be viewed below. The new maps all look pretty cool, but the most promising map from what we’ve seen so far seems to be Drive-In. This new map is based off of the extremely popular Nuke Town, one of the most popular maps in all of Black Ops. Annihilation will also include a new Zombies map just like every other past Black Ops add-on has offered before it. The new Zombies map, Shangri La, is significantly different from the other levels that are currently available, and the fact that there are zombie monkeys running around only adds to the overall appeal of the new content.

The new Black Ops Annihilation add-on will be available on June 28th as a timed-exclusive for the Xbox 360 for standard price of 1,200 Microsoft Points ($15). PS3 and PC owners should stay tuned to Game Rant for more information on when Annihilation will be available on their platform of choice.

What do you think of the new maps? Will you pick them up?
