Essentially taking a page out of Epic Games' book, Treyarch has been providing Blackout battle royale players with regular, worthwhile updates in constantly since the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The game's latest update has just dropped, giving players a tremendous amount of new content, fixes, and improvements. While all platforms will be given Zero improvements and custom games in Blackout, PlayStation owners are the first to receive automatically unlocked specialists.
Soon to follow for Xbox One and PC players, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 owners on PS4 can now play as any specialist in Blackout without having to grind to unlock them first. Fortunately for players, this removes the grindiness and annoyance of having to complete missions to unlock specialists.
Previously, specialists required "character missions" to be completed before they were playable in Blackout. However, this update has immediately unlocked all specialists and replaced the locked characters with outfits. Dubbed the name, "The Numbers," specialist outfits can now be obtained by completing the already-established character missions. Players who completed the missions and unlocked specialists beforehand are being given the corresponding outfits as compensation.

In addition to unlocked specialists for PS4 owners, all platforms now have the option to create custom games in Blackout. However, the maximum number of allowed players per match is set at a stingy 12. Meanwhile, Zero is now playable on Xbox One and PC, along with improvements and fixes for the character. Additionally, Xbox One and PC Black Ops Pass owners now have access to two new multiplayer maps: Elevation and Madagascar.
While there is much more new content that is not mentioned here, the main crux of the update is to introduce custom games for Blackout, bring Zero to Xbox One and PC, and unlock all specialists for PlayStation owners in Blackout. In the meantime, it will be interesting to see how long it takes for all of the Blackout specialists to be unlocked on other platforms.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
