A couple of days ago, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 unveiled its Black Market and Contraband system, a Battle Pass-like feature that rewards players with everything from emotes to a Blackout Hudson skin (from the original Black Ops). This system has a maximum of 200 tiers, with players having only 50 days to obtain said tiers.

The problem with this system is the rather predatory grind associated with it. To go up a single tier in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 takes much longer than it necessarily should, and with 50 days to hit tier 200, that means players need to obtain at least 4 tiers per day.

Doing so is another problem because it can take about ten games of TDM or KC to reach a single tier, so four tiers would require 40 matches per day. At an average length of 10 minutes per match, that means players have to play 400 minutes (six hours 40 minutes) per day to meet this goal and progress toward tier 200.

This has led some to the belief that COD points can soon be traded for tiers because this predatory practice would incentivize it. On the other hand, many still prefer this system over the Supply Drops found in other games, but they are still calling for a quicker progression or challenges, not unlike its competitor Fortnite. Considering this title has double the tiers available than its competitor, it would make sense to have daily and/or weekly challenges as well.

Nevertheless, this seems like something that'll likely be fixed soon, as the aforementioned grind is nearly impossible for several gamers. Until Treyarch does, however, many will likely continue this grind in order to unlock that coveted Hudson skin.
