Unlocking characters in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4's Blackout battle royale mode is no easy task. Usually players have to find a specific item or weapon in the game world, and then complete challenges associated with that item before the end of the match. This is exactly what needs to be done to unlock the Specialist character Seraph in the game.
To unlock Seraph in Black Ops 4's Blackout mode, players first need to find her weapon, the Annihilator. The Annihilator is an especially powerful pistol, and while it's not necessarily a one-shot kill in Blackout, it is still devastating in the hands of an accurate player. And unlike some other Blackout character items and weapons, the Annihilator always spawns in the same spot (except for the times it doesn't spawn at all).
To get the Annihilator, players need to head to Firing Range, and check out the center building. There is a box inside that has the Annihilator, and just beyond the box is a series of six targets. Shoot the targets with a pistol, and the box should open, allowing players to grab the Annihilator. If the box doesn't open, then that means it glitched and players will have to try again next round. Some players have reported that the box will only open after getting headshots on the targets, so it's worth trying that method as well.
Once Black Ops 4 Blackout battle royale players have the Annihilator in their possession, the next goal is to get a kill with it. As previously stated, the Annihilator is fairly powerful, but even so, players only have six shots to work with. Considering this, it may be best to weaken an enemy with another gun first before landing the killing blow with the Annihilator. If playing in squads or duos, players can down an enemy with any weapon and then finish them off with the Annihilator while they're crawling.
After getting a kill with the Annihilator, players have to finish the round in the top 5 and end the match with the weapon in their inventory. This step is arguably even more difficult than getting a kill with the Annihilator, and it may require players to simply hide from enemies to ensure that they get top 5. Even then, it's possible that enemies will stumble upon them and kill them before they can complete this particular objective.
If players fail any of Seraph's challenges, they will just have to try to retrieve the Annihilator from Firing Range and try again next round.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is out now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
