Gamers that are up to date with the latest Call of Duty news have likely heard of the mysterious Call of Duty: Black Ops 3's Zombies Chronicles DLC, which was leaked earlier in the week. So far, Activision has kept its plans for the expansion under wraps but yet another leak might just have determined what's coming in the next installment to the COD: Zombies franchise.

According to update files found by Reddit user LackingAGoodName, the Black Ops 3 Zombies Chronicles DLC looks to consist of remasters of older undead survival maps from Black Ops, Black Ops 2, and World at War. By decrypting files found following the publishing of the 'message of the day', the determined fan was able to reveal what the future update has in store.

Black Ops 3 Zombies Chronicles reveal

According to this new leak, the newest expansion to Black Ops 3 will include 8 classic maps, which have been fully remastered in HD. There's no given release date for the expansion, though it looks like we might get a more official reveal tomorrow. The collection will also release first on PS4, though there's no way to know how long this timed exclusive will remain solely on Sony devices.

Zombie Chronicles includes:

  • 3 maps from Call of Duty®: World at War: Nacht der Untoten, Verruckt and Shi No Numa
  • 4 maps from Call of Duty®: Black Ops: Kino Der Toten, Ascension, Shangri-la and Moon
  • 1 map from Call of Duty®: Black Ops II: Origins
  • Takeo and Richtofen Calling Cards
  • Dempsey and Nikolai Calling Cards
  • Zombies Heroes Animated Calling Cards
  • Limited Edition Camouflage Tin Can

It looks like Activision are bringing back plenty of fan-favorite Zombie maps, and it'll be interesting to see what the areas look like after a thorough remaster. Nacht der Untoten is returning yet again, with the map now making its fifth appearance in-game, should this leak prove to be correct.

This isn't the only Zombies news that has been revealed recently, and there's a lot of excitement stirring up online as Call of Duty players eagerly await more news about the highly-anticipated return to WW2 in the survival mode. Upon entering a special code on the game's official website, two new teaser images can be revealed which hint at a brand-new take on the Zombie franchise.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is available now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
