Hot on the heels of the reveal trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 comes a handful of screenshots that delve into the nitty gritty of Treyarch's vision of 2025. Though the trailer does a great job of selling the futuristic warfare we had been teased about for weeks, these screenshots give closer looks at the destruction, and the crazy weapons that players will have at their disposal and be fighting against.

To even further sweeten the Black Ops 2 pot, Activision has also released a teaser image for the Zombies mode in Black Ops 2 that was just revealed to be returning. Rumors have been swirling that suggest up to 8 players might be able to get in on the fun this time around, but honestly just getting to dispatch some undead, and in the future no less, sounds like a treat.

After it being rumored that the quadrotor helicopter would play an integral part in the combat for Black Ops 2 — a detail that tipped readers off to this game being set in the future — it feels like Treyarch is now doubling down on its importance. Not once, but twice, does the reconnaissance drone show up in the screens, so we surely hope this thing is pretty important.

The one criticism to be waged toward these screens is the overabundance of brown. Call of Duty, as a result of sticking with the same engine for almost 6 games now, has never been at the forefront of visuals, but this game in particular looks a bit dated and lacking in the color palette department. Luckily, the poster revealed for the new Zombies mode is a lot less brown, and a lot more red.

The image was posted over on the Black Ops Facebook page with the promise that "Zombies are coming," but beyond that no mention was made of Treyarch's hugely popular mode. Putting a female front and center on the image could have suggested that some big changes were in store for Zombies, but then, upon close inspection, you see that female character is wearing half a shirt.

We've only just scratched the surface when it comes to Black Ops 2 news, and once this promotional train starts it won't stop until November. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled to Game Rant for more Black Ops 2 news.
