With only a few more months until the launch of Call of Duty: Ghosts, it's almost time for a lot of gamers to close the book on Activision's 2012 COD title, Black Ops 2. However, before we say goodbye to the near future and all its inventive technology, developer Treyarch has one last treat for fans, the fourth and final DLC pack titled Apocalypse.

The Apocalypse DLC for Black Ops 2 is set to hit the Xbox Live Marketplace tomorrow, and a new trailer has hit the net in celebration. True to form, it features closer looks at the DLC pack's four multiplayer maps as well as an extended look at the new Zombies mission, Origins.

As far as the multiplayer maps are concerned, each seems to have their own appeal. Pod, for example, is a cliff side arena filled with multiple interiors for close quarters combat. Frost is a typical snow level only set on the streets of a European city complete with a bisecting canal and treacherous bridges.

Takeoff is the most unique of the maps in that it features a large spacecraft as its background element. Activision bills it as a close quarters map, reminiscent of the map "Stadium" from Black Ops 1's First Strike DLC pack. It's unclear, though, whether the spacecraft launch is a dynamic event, or if it only takes place at the end of a match.

Dig is a re-imagining of the World at War map Courtyard, designed to look like two different archeological dig sites. It boasts a wide-open layout with raised platforms and two major checkpoints.

While the multiplayer maps will always be the bread and butter for these DLC packs, Origins has a special appeal for fans of the Zombies mode. That's because this particular map takes players back to the mode's WWI-era roots, and features the four original characters from the mode.

Of course, with this being Black Ops 2 and all, there is plenty of futuristic tech to go around, including a lumbering mech, but we also hope the storyline will reveal, as the title suggests, more about the zombie outbreak.
