BioWare executive producer Mark Darrah trolls fans by sharing Dragon Age "screenshots" on Twitter. Darrah also trolled Dragon Age fans last week by tweeting the phrase "Dragon Age" over and over and by sharing art from the series, prompting some fans to believe that a Dragon Age 4 reveal was coming.
On Twitter, Darrah teased fans by tweeting a "real screenshot" that had been "slightly redacted." Everything apart from a small rectangle in the top right had been redacted. The rectangle seems to be of a tree branch and some fog. In another tweet, Darrah shared an image with the resolution reduced, joking that the image "seems to have lost some detail." The image is just a large gray rectangle and some Dragon Age fans responded to it by calling Darrah a tease.
The images were shared by Darrah as part of Dragon Age Day, a celebration of the series. The official BioWare Twitter account also shared Dragon Age screenshots, GIFs, fanart, and cosplays of characters like Dorian. Most fans seemed to take Darrah's posts in good humor and didn't take them seriously, but a few fans have taken it as a sign that more news is coming. Fans are hoping that BioWare will share more information about the game after revealing a Dragon Age 4 teaser trailer at The Game Awards 2018.
Dragon Age Day 2019 has been and gone, meaning that the next likely place for more Dragon Age 4 news is The Game Awards 2019 which take place in a week. The Game Awards host and creator Geoff Keighley has teased several major game announcements for the event and Dragon Age 4 could be one of them. Fans will be looking for news about the Dragon Age 4 release date, how the Dread Wolf will be part of the game's story, and if Dragon Age 4 will be the game's name or if it will be something like Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Other details that haven't yet been confirmed is if Dragon Age 4 will be released on PS5 and Xbox Project Scarlett. Game developers and publishers are now planning cross-generation game releases. Ubisoft has confirmed five games for the PS5 and Xbox Project Scarlett and PS4 and Xbox One, and it wouldn't be surprising if Dragon Age publisher EA is planning the same for its new games. Dragon Age: Inquisition was also a cross-generation release and was available on PS3, Xbox 360, PS4 and Xbox One so BioWare could potentially do that again.
