Bioshock: Infinite is one of the most anticipated titles of 2011, and odds are that you are clamoring for even the slightest bit of gameplay footage to whet your appetite. Well, forget 30 seconds of in-game action, because 2K and Irrational Games have released almost 10 full minutes of gameplay footage for your viewing pleasure. It's an extended version of that sneak peak we brought you a few days ago.
The Bioshock: Infinite trailer was originally suppose to be an Xbox Live Market Place exclusive until tomorrow, but what about the PS3 owners who are also excited for the game and want to see some gameplay footage? Should they honestly have to wait 24 hours?! Game Rant's answer is a resounding "no!" We've managed to find the trailer, so there shall be no delay for any of our readers. All we ask is that you don't tell us we never do anything for you.
The trailer follows the escapades of an unnamed man who is trying his best to find and protect a girl named Elizabeth. As he travels through the eerily sunny yet disturbing city of Columbia, looking for what we can only assume is his beloved Elizabeth, he runs into some trouble... well, not some trouble, more like a bountiful surplus of trouble. The trailer shows off Infinite's look, and it's very similar to Bioshock's, but the new game is able to rock it in a totally different fashion then what we've become accustomed to from the previous games in the series.

Yeah, that Handyman just threw a live horse at you, so odds are Infinite won't win PETA's game of the year award. But in all honesty, who cares about that when you can create lightning tornadoes or send attack crows after your enemies?
There is also something off about that guy with glowing eyes in the gazebo who seemed to look at you and go into a seizure, not to mention those people in the bar who kept yelling "A toast!" As we learned from various amounts a propaganda art prior to and throughout the video, things are going to hell in Columbia. There are different sides that seem to be going to war in the floating city, and as a result, the people have gone crazy and parts of the town are literally falling (thousands of feet) to pieces.
It's an interesting setting, and I'm very excited to see how it will tie in to the Bioshock mythology while simultaneously trying to set itself apart from the other games in the series. I certainly hope that, with Irrational Games at the helm of a Bioshock game once more, we ultimately get a game that is even better than the original.
What do you guys think of the new gameplay trailer? Do you think Irrational Games will be able to topple the original Bioshock with Infinite?
Bioshock: Infinite comes crashing down sometime in 2011 for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.
