Over the weekend, the publisher THQ Nordic and the developer Experiment 101 showed how character customization works and how a character’s appearance can influence their stats within the forthcoming open world action role-playing game, Biomutant. Now the companies have decided to give fans an even better idea as to what's to come with the title by releasing a fresh gameplay teaser trailer.

As seen below in Biomutant's gameplay teaser trailer, fans are shown plenty of instances of the title's third-person action, which involves shooting, hand-to-hand combat, robotics, and more, and players can use these abilities to be either heroic or villainous in their quest. Not to mention, the gameplay teaser for Biomutant displays a wide range of different methods for traversal throughout the title's open world, with characters being able to move about on foot, climb up mountain sides, or even coast through the air via hang glider.

With all of these gameplay attributes now being shown for Biomutant, it's now much more evident as to what Experiment 101 developer Stefan Ljunqvist meant when he previously compared the game's open world structure to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. After all, Link is able to undertake most of these feats within the Nintendo Switch title. Of course, BotW handles them in a somewhat different capacity.

Taking all of this into consideration, Biomutant appears to be shaping up quite nicely, and it definitely has plenty of potential to make waves with action-RPG fans upon release thanks to its unique design style and variety of options for combat. While the game currently lacks an official release date, it's safe to presume that many will remain content with THQ Nordic and Experiment 101 taking time to polish the title as much as possible without having to feel the need to rush it out to the public.

Biomutant is currently in development with a 2018 launch window, and is set to release for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
