Open-world RPG titles have been accommodating to most players' playstyles. These types of games allow their players to make their gameplay more immersive, individualistic, and personal by making sure the combat system is able to adhere to specific styles. A lot of players prefer to keep the combat system simple by employing a melee build.

Biomutant is one of these games. There are various weapons and abilities in this game that make sure anyone who wants to exclusively employ melee combat can do so effectively. One of the abilities in the game that makes the player's melee combat even more diverse and powerful is the Wung-Fu technique. The player should take the time to explore these and use them liberally in the game so their melee combat is even more effective.

10 Wuji Stance

The Wuji Stance is a basic melee Wung-Fu. This attack is already unlocked for the player so they won't have to spend any upgrade points anymore. This Wung-Fu technique may be considered basic but it is very integral in the game's melee combat system.

This Wung-Fu technique essentially translates as the game's parry system. Once the player hits the button they've assigned to this move just before the enemy's attack lands, the enemy will be stunned, leaving them open for a few moments.

9 Air Strike

The Air Strike Wung-Fu technique is the perfect follow-up to Wuji Stance since this attack can only be done on stunned opponents. Doing this attack while the enemy is stunned will send them flying to the air, allowing the player to continue the combo mid-air.

Attacking the enemy mid-air will automatically trigger the Spiral Cloud melee technique, which deals a considerable amount of damage.

8 Tsunami Thrust

The Tsunami Thrust is a Wung-Fu technique for the Jagni Tribe Staff. This technique finishes the player's melee combo with a powerful stabbing attack, dealing immense damage.

The Jagni Tribe Staff may not be the most powerful melee weapon in the game, but players will find this very handy since it can be unlocked very early in the game and its stats are decent for early to mid-game.

7 Unspeakable Hand

Going Unarmed melee in Biomutant isn't the easiest way to play the game, but it will certainly make the gameplay a little bit more interesting. Those who want to go for this build will be glad to know that there are also Wung-Fu techniques dedicated to this fighting style.

The Unspeakable Hand Wung-Fu is one such technique. This will finish the player's melee attack chain with a launching grab, which then leads to a powerful piledriver slam. The player needs just 1 Upgrade Point to unlock this Wung-Fu technique.

6 Drunken Ant

The Drunken Ant Wung-Fu technique is only for one-handed slash weapons. This type of weapon is very light but its damage is very minimal. This is perfect for players who want quick attack speeds.

While one-handed slash weapons don't deal as much damage as the bigger weapons in the game, the Drunken Ant Wung-Fu technique will make sure the player's combo ends powerfully. This technique will close off the player's melee chain with three strong slashes. This can be unlocked with 1 Upgrade Point.

5 Unstoppable Pig

The Unstoppable Pig Wung-Fu technique is for dual-wield melee users. It should be noted that the player needs to unlock the Twin Silver Grip ability first so they can gain the ability to wield two one-handed weapons.

The Unstoppable Pig technique ends the player's combat with a powerful flurry of stabs. This Wung-Fu technique is very powerful and it makes dual-wielding so much more awesome than it already is. This technique only costs 1 Upgrade Point to unlock.

4 Screaming Steel

The Old World Klonkfist weapon is a special Unique Weapon type that's not only very effective in combat but also a necessity for the completion of various missions and side quests in the game.

The Screaming Steel Wung-Fu technique is by far the best for this particular weapon. The great thing is it is already unlocked for as long as the player has the Old World Klonkfist in their inventory. This technique activates a chain of five powerful melee attacks which then ends with an explosive uppercut.

3 Wicked Wolf

biomutant wicked wolf

The Wicked Wolf Wung-Fu technique gives two-handed slash weapon users a powerful combo finisher. Once unlocked, activating this Wung-Fu technique will add a strong vertical slash attack at the end of the combo chain.

This technique requires just 1 Upgrade Point to unlock. Players who prefer the higher damage output of two-handed slash weapons should not overlook this dynamic combo finisher.

2 Mercury Drop

Two-handed crush weapons are by far has the highest damage output of any weapon in Biomutant. Their only caveat is that these weapons can have slow attack speeds.

Those who want to wield two-handed crush weapons should unlock the Mercury Drop Wung-Fu technique right away. It only costs 1 Upgrade Point to unlock. This technique will have the player perform a powerful area of effect smash attack at the end of the melee chain.

1 Jewel Seeker

biomutant jewel seeker

The Jewel Seeker Wung-Fu technique is an exclusive ability that comes with the Jagni Tribe Staff. This Wung-Fu technique is very unique. Not only does this help in combat but it can also function as a traversal ability.

This technique will have the character do a swirling air attack which also lifts them up in the air. When done outside of combat, the Jewel Seeker will allow the player to hover in the air for a couple of seconds.
