Hacking and slashing through countless foes has been a recurring element in many video games, though the manner in which this happens can vary greatly depending on the genre, the developer, and other crucial factors. Biomutant, by Swedish developer Experiment 101, brings two decisive ways to dice enemies: One-Handed Slash Weapons and Two-Handed Slash Weapons.
The latter class contains 11 sword-like blades which need two dextrous paws to wield, though, only 7 are truly worth considering as a battlefield ally. These are the Two-Handed Slash Weapons that are most worthy of being wielded by the player, as some possess swift attack speeds, while others can penetrate the enemy's armor easier or even both for ideal combat balance.
7 Moo-Blade
Moo-Blade Attack Speed - 25/100
Moo-Blade Armor Piercing - 30/100
A well-balanced blade to be sure, as it outclasses nearly half of the Two-Handed Slash Weapons in terms of attack speed and armor-piercing potential. Like most weapons in this class, however, it has a very low critical hit chance, though it is lacking in another area. The Moo-Blade, unlike every other blade of its kind, can only attach a single add-on instead of two. This means that players should swap their Moo-Blade out for any of the following weapons once they become available.
6 Squareblade
Squareblade Attack Speed - 25/100
Squareblade Armor Piercing - 28/100
With similar stats to the Moo-Blade, the Squareblade can be used for similar battle-related pursuits, though is slightly less effective at piercing enemy armor. What makes this chunky blade better is that two add-ons can be attached to it for greater possibilities.
5 Piperasp
Piperasp Attack Speed - 45/100
Piperasp Armor Piercing - 0/100
Made from rusty metal, this thin blade can be swung about very quickly, which makes it great for dispatching more nimble foes. However, its complete lack of armor-piercing means that players wielding a Piperasp should not try to take on any of the more beefy enemies with this weapon unless it has been adequately upgraded.
4 Long Cutter
Long Cutter Attack Speed - 45/100
Long Cutter Armor Piercing - 12/100
The Long Cutter has a fair bit of reach as well as excellent attack speed, meaning that a sufficiently upgraded one can decimate enemy numbers quickly. However, it suffers from a lack of armor-piercing power, albeit not as much at the Piperasp, which dooms it to being overall ineffective against foes with thicker hides or armor. It does look very cool with its glowing purple blade, so players influenced by its aesthetics are somewhat common.
3 Bangblade
Bangblade Attack Speed - 45/100
Bangblade Armor Piercing - 15/100
Tremendously fast, being among the quickest blades, the Bangblade can become one of the quickest ways to deal with lightly armored enemies thanks to its great attack speed. One can use this sword much like how they would use the Long Cutter, though a bit more liberally thanks to the slightly higher armor piercing.
2 Ritualsword
Ritualsword Attack Speed - 45/100
Ritualsword Armor Piercing - 28/100
Based on the strange design of the blade, the Ritualsword seems to have been more for ceremonial purposes than for combat, however, its incredible attack speed and great armor-piercing power let it strike down any kind of foe, given the player knows how to use the Ritualsword to its full potential. Being upgraded and given the proper add-ons can make this Two-Handed Slash Weapon a stoic companion for the whole game.
1 Longspike Gigablade
Longspike Gigablade Attack Speed - 25/100
Longspike Gigablade Armor Piercing - 30/100
Having some of the best armor-piercing among the Two-Handed Slash Weapons by itself makes the unique weapon known as the Longspike Gigablade worth using by itself, however, this burning blade also possesses decent attack speed and a powerful additional effect: 125 heat damage per strike. These traits combined with this blade's relatively high critical hit chance of 5% make the Longspike Gigablade one of the best weapons in the game.
