A "sequel-sized" DLC is headed to Binding of Isaac. Creator Edmund McMillen has revealed that Binding of Isaac: Repentance is 90% complete, in what will be the final expansion in one of the best permadeath games of the past decade.

In a blog post on Steam, McMillen provided an update on Binding of Isaac, sharing that the Repentance expansion will be the sequel DLC that fans have always wanted. The game can be added to the wish list on Steam now, as the page just went live.

In what is only the first update for the game, McMillen shared that Repentance will receive blog updates regularly leading up to launch, just like what was done with Binding of Isaac Rebirth and Afterbirth. McMillen says that he is proud of the team for going above and beyond in putting the game together, noting that the expansion will be amazing and that it is larger than Rebirth was.

The Binding of Isaac first released back in 2011, so it has been supported now for nearly a decade. Rebirth released in 2014, and Afterbirth came out a year later in 2015, with the followup, Afterbirth+, being released in 2017. Fans have been able to enjoy the game for quite some time now, and if Repentance is indeed the final expansion for the game, The Binding of Isaac had quite the run.

Even as the team has been working hard on the Binding of Isaac expansion, McMillen found time to create a board game, launching a Kickstarter for it over the summer. Tapeworm is the name of the game, and it is described as an Uno-like game with depth. It brings with it a gross but charming art style, much like Binding of Isaac.

The Binding of Isaac: Repentance is currently in development.
