Cookie Run Kingdom takes after many mobile games. Like others in the space, it seems that new events are added in every other update to keep players coming back for more rewards and special items. While most events in these types of titles tend to be native to the game they come from, mobile gaming typically sees a fair amount of crossovers as similar titles use each other to advertise to similar audiences.

Devsisters' latest hit release is no different as Cookie Run Kingdom has managed a few crossover events since launching in early 2021. However, the scope of these collaborations is quite dizzying, as all of them are with huge franchises and brands. The first Cookie Run crossover was in Cookie Run: OvenBreak, and it featured the most iconic Sanrio character, Hello Kitty and her sister Mimmy. The two were exclusive "special" rarity cookies that could be unlocked through an exclusive event that ran from November 28 to December 19 back in 2018. The event was criticized for being very pay-to-win due to its short length making rewards almost unobtainable for free-to-play fans. This event would be the first of many that Devsisters would learn from to improve the future Cookie Run Kingdom collaborations that would happen years later.

Cookie Run Kingdom's first collaboration starred Sonic the Hedgehog and his best friend Miles "Tails" Prower. The event saw Devsisters' mobile title hosting an exclusive set of Sonic-themed stages where players would gather rings. The rings would be used in an Item Box gacha to gather the Chaos Emeralds, and gathering all seven twice would unlock Sonic Cookie and Tails Cookie. The Sonic crossover was heavily criticized for its short length as the stages could only be played once every ten hours unless fans paid for more energy via microtransactions. According to a live stream from Devsisters in June 2022, the Sonic Cookie is said to come back to the game "soon."

The Festival of Dreams and Wishes was a huge event that saw several classic Disney characters come to Cookie Run Kingdom in cookie form. Instead of offering exclusive Disney-themed stages, instead, the collaboration had a Disney-only gacha that allowed fans to gather special decor and 20 "guest cookies" that weren't playable but could walk around players' kingdoms. It was a rather large improvement from the mistakes of the Sonic event, as it not only lasted longer, but the gacha items were fairly easy to get through daily missions and tasks.

Running for a lengthy four months, Braver Together is debatably Cookie Run Kingdom's biggest collaboration yet. Instead of teaming up with another property, Braver Together sees the singers of Korean boy band BTS turned into special cookies that can be obtained through a special gacha. The Braver Together event seems to combine the best of both the Sonic and Disney events, allowing BTS to be a special class of playable cookies as fans unlock them by gathering specific gacha currency through missions and the crossover's unique Rhythm Stage.

Cookie Run Kingdom has also been part of other collaborations outside its own game, such as the multiple events it has been part of in Summoner's War, another RPG-esque app game. Fans of the Cookie Run series shouldn't expect these collaborations to stop anytime soon as Kingdom has grown in immense popularity over the last year, and these events only growing in size is evidence of that. However, it begs the question of just what crossover will be next, as the previous ones have been incredibly impressive for such a new game.

Cookie Run Kingdom is available now for mobile devices.
