Revealed last year, Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions is a boxing title within the Rocky film canon, pitting many of its boxing champions and rivalries in an over-the-top arcade-style gameplay experience. The various fighters all bear numerous expressions to reflect on the cartoon-like aesthetic, vastly different from other Rocky titles in the past, which went for realism.

The trailer showcases heavy-hitting blows with dynamic particle effects as punches connect wildly against each opponent to the backdrop of various fighting venues. Some of the arenas range from traditional boxing arenas to that of a western trailer park desert, offering unique experiences to bring to the fight. Other iconic venues from the Rocky and Creed movies include the back alley where Rocky fought at the end of Rocky V.

The roster for Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions will include characters from both Rocky and the Creed franchises, featuring generational boxers from the original to its modern roster. The list of confirmed boxers includes Adonis Creed, Rocky Balboa, Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago, Viktor Drago, and many boxers who have yet to be revealed. The game will also feature various mini-games meant to train the player's boxer and offer a way to keep players occupied away from its main boxing gameplay for a few sessions.

Survivors, the developers behind Big Rumble Boxing, first announced the title during a mini Nintendo Direct back in August 2020. Survivors is best known for its VR games, including a VR boxing game using the likeliness of Creed with its 2020 release of Creed: Rise to Glory. There are similarities between the two boxing titles, with Big Rumble Boxing foregoing the VR experience for a more traditional arcade boxing title with fighting game elements including a super meter and importance of movement.

The release of Big Rumble Boxing aligns with the upcoming release of the third movie in the Creed storyline, set to release in 2022. Like the movies themselves, the game will focus on Adonis Creed, Apollo Creed's son, as the central character with Rocky Balboa reminiscing on his previous fights. The combination of the older and newer generations will help fans become acquainted with both long before the release of Creed 3.

Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions seems to focus on a style of boxing that has laid dormant in video games for years, reminiscing of Ready 2 Rumble Boxing and Nintendo's Punch-Out! titles. Players will expect to engage in hard-hitting hooks and jabs of their own on September 3rd for PC and consoles.

Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions will release on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One on September 3rd.
