Guerrilla Games’ Horizon: Zero Dawn has turned a lot of heads with its graphics and gameplay demonstrations, and now fans have a reason to expect even more at E3 2016.
E3 2016 is just a few weeks away, and developers are beginning to make their pushes for gamers to pay attention to their respective offerings this year. While games like Final Fantasy 15 and Gears of War 4 don’t necessarily need to vie for attention on the show floor, others, like Horizon: Zero Dawn, often need to do something flashy or innovative in order to remain at the forefront of fan discussion as E3 week progresses.
Luckily for everyone involved, Guerrilla Games has a pretty good grasp on the whole “go big or go home” school of thought when it comes to advertising. The developer caused a bit of a social media stir yesterday when it announced via Twitter that one of Horizon: Zero Dawn‘s already memorable enemies had taken over a small section of downtown Los Angeles:

The banner is predictably gorgeous, which comes with the territory of being even tangentially related to Horizon: Zero Dawn at this point in its preview cycle. Although very little gameplay has been revealed since the initial presentation of Guerrilla Games’ newest title at E3 2015, Horizon: Zero Dawn already has a reputation for being beautiful in both aesthetic and execution. If Guerrilla Games’ tweet is any indication, however, there will be a substantial amount of information regarding Horizon: Zero Dawn coming once E3 2016 is in full swing.
More information will obviously be required before gamers decide if Horizon: Zero Dawn truly interests them, of course, which is why even the implication that gamers will learn more soon is so tantalizing. The most recent rumor regarding the game was actually a disappointing one, as news began to circulate that Horizon: Zero Dawn would be delayed until 2017. That’s something Guerrilla Games will want to address one way or the other, and if the delay is going to happen, the developers will want to explain further.
It’s possible the big E3 2016 reveal for Horizon: Zero Dawn will also be based closely around the game’s narrative. So far, we know that Aloy, Horizon: Zero Dawn‘s protagonist, is based off of strong female characters in recent pop culture television or film. Perhaps gamers will understand why metal beasts roam an otherwise primitive countryside by the end of E3 2016, or maybe they’ll discover some exciting gameplay instead – whatever it may be, Guerrilla Games’ Twitter account has managed to generate some buzz leading into Horizon: Zero Dawn‘s most important showing yet.
