'Beyond Good & Evil' Producer Says to 'Keep the Faith' for Sequel

Keep the Faith for Beyond Good & Evil 2

Beyond Good & Evil was a cult classic from 2003, and while it didn't do well in terms of sales, it was adored by the gamers who did purchase the title.

Ever since its release, fans have been clamoring for a sequel, and they had their prayers answered in 2008 when it was finally announced. Well it's been three long and quiet years since the announcement of Beyond Good & Evil 2, and while fans will get Beyond Good & Evil HD in a week, we've heard little news about the sequel.

However, in a recent interview when Beyond Good & Evil producer, Wang Xu, said that gamers should "keep the faith."

During an email interview with Eurogamer, producer Wang Xu was asked if the PSN and XBLA release of BG&E HD was being used to gauge the popularity of the franchise. He has this to say.

"Yes it is true; please buy Beyond Good & Evil HD if you want more BG&E games :) For real... I don't know?"

It sounds as if Xu let something slip that he wasn't supposed to let out. In any regard, it's very certain that Ubisoft will be watching closely at the sales figures for BG&E HD. The company wouldn't have went through the trouble of creating a HD remake if they didn't think it would sell. However, how well the game will sell is much harder to gauge. Will the hype generated by hardcore fans of the original influence those who never heard of the game? Let's hope so.

Those of you who have yet to experience Beyond Good & Evil, or if you are curious about the HD remake, we have the first eight minutes of gameplay for your viewing pleasure. Check the video below.

Beyond Good & Evil HD launches on XBLA on March 2nd with a PSN release later in the year. Will you be downloading the title? Did you play the original?
