It's been a while since Ubisoft last talked about Beyond Good & Evil 2, the long-awaited sequel/prequel to the 2003 cult classic. Ever since its shocking announcement at E3 2017, fans have been salivating at the prospect of finally getting their hands on it, but things have been pretty quiet regarding the title, with the last bit of info coming from an admittedly meaty livestream from six months ago. With E3 just around the corner, it'd be the perfect time to show off some new details but it looks like Ubisoft has other plans.

According to a post on the publisher's official websiteBeyond Good & Evil 2 won't be making any sort of appearance at E3 at all, and will instead be getting another dedicated livestream next week; specifically on Wednesday, June 5th at 9am PDT. As for why it's skipping E3, the post states that this is due to them "focusing on core development milestones." What details will be shown during the livestream remains to be seen, especially since the post also reads "We look forward to sharing more with you, including new gameplay footage, when the time is right." Does this mean next week's stream won't feature anything brand new and focus solely on details we're already familiar with? At this point, it's hard to say but fans should probably keep their expectations tempered, just to be on the safe side.

Funnily enough, the stream will be airing the same day as another highly-anticipated title that's skipping E3 to have it's own livestream - Pokemon Sword & Shield. Fortunately, for those who wish to watch both, the Pokemon one will be airing three hours before Beyond Good & Evil 2's at 6am PDT, though it's certainly quite a coincidence for Ubisoft to schedule theirs on the same day.

As for what Ubisoft does have planned for E3 this year, they have yet to officially confirm anything, though a number of their potential plans have been leaked. There are talks of them announcing a new IP called Roller Champions, which sounds like it could be a sports title, and a couple of weeks ago, details for Watch Dogs 3 were seemingly leaked, which included the new main character and gameplay features.

Beyond Good & Evil 2 currently has no release date or confirmed platforms.
