Ubisoft held its 2021 financial report earlier today, releasing a variety of documents as well as hosting a conference call. Ubisoft's financial report showed how well the company has performed over the previous year, but it also delivered some bad news for a few of Ubisoft's upcoming titles.

Ubisoft's financial report painted a pretty picture of the company's impressive performance as of late. Not only did it reveal the game's number of unique players going up by 20%, but also some impressive developments for some of its biggest franchises like Assassin's Creed and Rainbow Six. However, it was not all good news, such as the announcement that Ubisoft's pirate-themed multiplayer game Skull and Bones has been delayed yet again.

The financial report also could potentially signal bad news for players waiting for Ubisoft titles Beyond Good and Evil 2. Firstly, Beyond Good and Evil 2 was nearly entirely absent from the conference. While Ubisoft did give confirmation that it has not abandoned the title, it did not have any other information to give at the time and made no mention of a release window despite some windows it discussed not coming for a couple of years yet. The title was first revealed back in 2017, but there has been little news since and it looks as though fans may still have quite a bit longer to wait for Beyond Good and Evil 2.

Fans have been waiting for more news on Beyond Good and Evil 2 for some time now, as nothing new has been shown of it in months. Ubisoft has said that it is happy with how the game's development has been progressing, but Beyond Good and Evil 2 did lose its game director Michel Ancel back in September 2020, which reportedly brought quite the shake-up to development. Ancel had clarified that when the game was revealed it was still very early on in development, so it seems that fans may not want to get their hopes up to play the game any time soon.

All in all, however, Ubisoft's financial report looks good for the company, even if it doesn't for Beyond Good and Evil fans. At least the company has confirmed that the game is still in active development, so there is still hope for fans even if they have to wait quite a bit longer to get their hands on it. Hopefully, with Ubisoft being confirmed to be participating in E3 this year fans will get plenty of information soon on some of Ubisoft's biggest upcoming titles.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 is actively in development without an announced release date.
