Even though there has been no official news about Beyond Good and Evil 2 for quite some time, there is at least some evidence to show that the game is still being developed at Ubisoft. Ever since Ubisoft announced that Beyond Good and Evil 2 was in development at its presentation during E3 2017, information has been sparse from the company. The last time there was anything official was a gameplay demo preview in 2018. Since then, there has been imagery of characters from the games used in some promotional art for future Ubisoft games, but nothing since

According to a jobs listing on LinkedIn, Ubisoft is currently seeking to hire a 3D Programmer to work on its Beyond Good and Evil 2 team. The position is within Ubisoft's headquarters in Paris. The studio where this opening exists is described as the same team behind games like Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, Mario+Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, Just Dance 2021, and Watch_Dogs Legion.

There were rumors that there may be some sort of reveal coming sometime in 2021, but there has been nothing confirming that news and 2021 is quickly drawing to a close. The game was brought up as part of Ubisoft's plans during a quarterly financial report earlier this year. When asked if Beyond Good and Evil 2 could possibly be expected in the 2023 Fiscal Year (running from May 2023 to April 2024), chief financial officer Frederick Duguet's only answer was that development on the game is "going well."

Ubisoft has other games currently in "development limbo" like Skull and Bones and any semblance of a new entry in the Splinter Cell series (outside of a DLC or a failed mobile game). Ubisoft is also still working itself out of the sexual misconduct and toxic workplace allegations that were brought up recently. It's also possible that the game may have undergone reconstruction and what was already shown to the public may be completely different now.

It's fine for games to go silent when they're very early in development. After the mess that was the release of Cyberpunk 2077, the gaming community is solidly in the "take all the time to make it good" camp. However, there has been some concern in regards to this game as the silence has been deafening. Beyond Good and Evil 2 made a bombastic appearance at E3 2017 with its pre-rendered cutscene trailer, but with no further news about gameplay or another trailer, fans can't help but wonder what is going on over at Ubisoft in regards to this game.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 is currently in development on unspecified platforms.
