The current well-being of everyone's favorite "criminal" lawyer is something that Better Call Saul has yet to touch upon in season 6. Now, a recent teaser for the latter half of the show's final season gives us a glimpse of what is yet to come for Gene Takovic.

While everyone is eagerly awaiting to see how Better Call Saul unfolds leading up to when Breaking Bad begins, it's overshadowed that audiences still have yet to know what will ultimately be Jimmy McGill's fate in the post-Breaking Bad world. In one of the show's latest teasers, we get a little glimpse of Gene Takovic's life after he had been recognized by a fan (and possible criminal).

In anticipation of Better Call Saul's last six episodes, the AMC YouTube channel has been giving its audience a few teasers of what is to come before it resumes next week. As the latest teaser reminds fans, Gene (or Saul/Jimmy) being recognized is an unlucky turn of events that he will have to deal with to avoid potential problems with law enforcement. While not revealing too much - which is a staple in the Better Call Saul teasers and trailers - the teaser shows just enough to give viewers a good idea of what Gene will have to deal with in the modern-day timeline. While Gene continues his work as a manager of the Cinnabon in a local mall in Omaha, Nebraska, it seems clear that his cab driver, who was a fan that recognized him as Saul Goodman, has told other cab drivers of his current whereabouts. The teaser does not go into much detail, but it implies that Gene will take matters into his own hands regarding the issue instead of relocating as he did after the fallout from Breaking Bad.

When Better Call Saul has flashed forward to modern-day post-Breaking Bad, the show has delved into the extreme measures Gene feels he has to take to avoid being arrested. Not only was he the lawyer of drug kingpin Walter White as Saul Goodman, but he was also a local celebrity since his face was plastered around Albuquerque with the oh-so well-known tagline, "Better Call Saul!" Before being discovered through happenstance, the show heavily implied that at one point, Gene would eventually be recognized in spite of his best efforts. Now that he has, it's all about how he responds.

Because the show mainly details the steps Jimmy McGill took before he ultimately morphed into Saul Goodman, Gene Takovic's story has fallen under the radar since the show began. It was never intended to be a major plotline since the audience only got small snippets of Gene in the very first scene of each season - sans season 6 - but given what could potentially be at stake for him, it was still something that left audiences curious about how it was all going to end. Now, his worst nightmare has come true, so he'll have to deal with the ramifications that come with that.

The real question is, how will he deal with this situation? Relocating is apparently out of the question now, as season 5 confirmed. So will he threaten the cab driver? What good would that do? Does he own up to his misdeeds and turn himself in? Could this somehow end with Jimmy reuniting with Kim Wexler, the love of his life? The only way fans will find out is when the series wraps up this summer. On a more important note, does anyone else seriously crave Cinnabon whenever Better Call Saul cuts to Gene's work life?

Better Call Saul will resume its final season on AMC on July 11, 2022.
