As a way to celebrate QuakeCon 2021, Bethesda is giving fans the chance to win custom Xbox Wireless Controllers. QuakeCon 2021 is a virtual event that takes place over three days, and consists of panels, tournaments, and new announcements.
While the yearly convention was held in the presence of a large audience, Bethesda had to shift last year’s QuakeCon to a digital format due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. QuakeCon 2021 is in full swing and there have been some noteworthy surprises at the event, including the announcement of a next-generation release of The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.
Xbox fans can now try and win custom controllers by engaging with QuakeCon 2021 on Twitch or on social media. One controller featured is designed around The Elder Scrolls Online while the other features logos from Bethesda franchises. There are different ways to get a chance to win each controller, in addition to a unique time slot of each giveaway. Neither of the controllers require any sort of purchase. As an example, one way to win the ESO controller is to watch livestreams panels titled Inside the Award-Winning The Elder Scrolls Online with ZeniMax Online Studios or The Elder Scrolls Online – Live Art Creation on Twitch. One method of winning the Bethesda controller is to simply retweet the official giveaway post, but it can also be obtained by participating in a survey.
Fans can choose the giveaway they wish to participate in, and follow the steps outlined. It should be noted that each controller also has its own eligibility criteria, and its availability is limited to residents of selected countries. The method and eligibility for each is detailed in the giveaway section of the official QuakeCon website. In addition to the controllers, Bethesda is also giving away posters, keyboards, gaming chairs, gift cards, liquid coolers, and many more exciting collectables.
Along with some noteworthy announcements, such as a remaster of the original Quake, QuakeCon is doing a good job of keeping fans engaged by offering these unique controllers. As there are a few different ways to win, fans can choose whatever method they are most comfortable with, or retry after a failed attempt.
It’s unfortunate that the giveaways are only limited to a selection of countries, but this practice is fairly standard. This is not the first time Xbox fans have had the chance to win exclusive Bethesda merchandise, as Microsoft had given out custom Bethesda-themed controllers earlier this year, after finalizing its acquisition of ZeniMax Media.
