The Game Awards ceremony was a night of celebrating the best the industry has to offer, announcing a plethora of titles that are on the horizon, and even including a surprise or two (planned or otherwise). The Game Awards may be over for the year, but the games announced there will no doubt have an impact in the coming months or even years.

Games industry analyst Benji-Sales on Twitter has gathered data based on the new trailers revealed for The Game Awards, revealing the top 8 trailers to emerge out of the show. There are some surprises among them, of course, including how Final Fantasy 16 doesn't manage to crack as many views as some of these titles. To gather this information, Benji-Sales compiled all trailer uploads of 30K views or more from The Game Awards, developers, publishers, outlets, and so on, excluding reaction videos and breakdown videos of the trailers.

The clear pack leader is the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor gameplay trailer, which has accumulated 4.9m+ views (more than double the second most popular trailer). The second most popular trailer was Hades 2, as it racked up 2.4 million views, but it was no doubt one of the most surprising trailers there. Supergiant Games doesn't typically do sequels, so to do so with Hades speaks to the popularity of the IP. Third place is Armored Core 6, the next game from Elden Ring developer FromSoftware, which appears to be leveraging its pedigree with Souls titles to hopefully revive its once cult classic Armored Core IP (that faded into obscurity roughly ten years ago). It garnered 2.2m+ views.

The other games to crack the top 8 include Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League's Batman reveal (2.1m+), Kojima Production's Death Stranding 2 (1.9m+), Cyberpunk 2077's Phantom Liberty DLC (1.6m+), Diablo 4 (1.5m+), and Tekken 8 (1.4m+). While these may just be the top trailers at the showcase, it speaks to how much exposure smaller games can get when paired alongside industry titans in a singular showcase.

Of course, notably missing among the various trailers at The Game Awards was Xbox's forecast of games, such as Redfall and Starfield. While there are plenty of reasons as to why, potentially even including the Activision Blizzard acquisition and its challenges, recent comments from Xbox higher-ups suggest there are plans on horizon, leading to rumors of an early 2023 Xbox showcase for the year. For now, fans just have to wait and see.
