Nintendo's special Direct presentation focusing solely on Animal Crossing New Horizons' future updates has gone live, and fans are still reeling from the information revealed. Now players across the world are eagerly awaiting the release of the new characters and features into the game!

RELATED How To Get The Most Bells In One Day

Brewster and The Roost - the museum's café - were previously shown to be coming to Animal Crossing New Horizons when Nintendo announced this special presentation - during their fantastic September Direct. However, there was plenty more to be had this time around! Here we will give a rundown of the most important things Nintendo have shown.

10 Kapp'n Brings Back His Boat

Kapp'n, long-running taxi driver and boat wrangler, is coming back to the Animal Crossing series. His boat will be tied at the dock, on players' islands, and he will be able to transport them to mystery islands. Different from the already existing ones, too! These islands can be any time of day or night, and feature new items!

The new mystery islands can be covered in vines, they could be icy, or scalding hot. Who knows what is in store for eager players at the end of Kappn's trips! And for a very reasonable 1000 Nook Miles, this quick vacation is a great deal.

9 Farming And Cooking!

We still can't believe it. Cooking and farming are coming to Animal Crossing New Horizons. Since the release of pumpkins last year, fans have been wondering what else could possibly come, and now they finally know!

Players will be able to plant many different crops - including potatoes, sugar cane, carrots, tomatoes, and more! Much more! These ingredients can be used to cook a whole menu of craftable food items, with a new set of kitchen furniture to go with it! Time to clear out those empty fields, and dust off those watering cans!

8 Outdoor Quality Of Life Changes

This Direct was absolutely packed with information, and that includes quality of life changes. The changes coming to the outdoor section of the island are incredibly helpful - the best of which? A portable storage shed! No longer will players need to hurry across half an island to put away a pair of socks!

Other features are new fences - a total of nine new designs and the ability to customize a lot of existing choices, there is also a permanent ladder DIY recipe that is available, and the best of all? Ordinances are making a return! They will make it so your villagers will wake up earlier, that more Bells will be able to be made, and more!

7 Indoor Quality Of Life Changes

The indoor sections of the game are also getting a bit of a revamp. New furniture collections are being added, along with ceiling items, and more wall-based designs. There will be new interior design items like wallpaper too.

Speaking of, any wallpaper will be able to be placed on one wall section, too, instead of the whole room! This is a feature that has never been included in an Animal Crossing game before and is sure to make a difference to anyone's interior design ideas. Oh, also, those patterns available at Able Sisters? They can now be placed as flooring or wallpaper!

6 Villager Updates

Finally, it has happened. The ability to make plans with villagers has been returned to Animal Crossing. They can now turn up at players' houses at their own will, and invite the player over to their house! If this is anything like the function in Animal Crossing New Leaf, we advise keeping the date - as villagers didn't take too kindly to being stood up!

Another quirky addition is that the player can now set up group sessions on the plaza in front of the town hall - all villagers can join in with stretching sessions! These can be done with either button or motion controls, which is a cool use of the Switch's hardware!

5 A New K.K. Slider Album

After what seems like years in the studio, KK Slider has at long last finished up a new load of tracks. Twelve new songs will be coming in the November update, bringing exciting new choices for the daring dog's Saturday night sets.

RELATED Nintendo Fans Have A Lot To Look Forward To This Month

While some fans were hoping that KK would move to The Roost, this new EP of his is bound to appease the expectations. There is also a new music box item coming, too, that fans can listen to a chilled-out version of his set on.

4 Brewster Is Coming Back To Animal Crossing

Animal Crossing Brewster

Nintendo finally decided to bring this feathered friend back into the series' latest entry. After a year and a half of fans pleading for the barista bird to be added to New Horizons, Brewster and his cafe, The Roost, are coming back to the game in November.

Brewster has been a cornerstone of the series since his entrance into the Animal Crossing series in the Nintendo DS game, Wild World. Since then, the cozy cafe had been a recurring feature, and left fans saddened that it wasn't included in New Horizons from the beginning. Much like previous examples, villagers and NPCs can come and go as they please, and sit down for a nice hot cup of joe.

3 Harvey's Island Overhaul

A pivotal character not to be left out is Harvey. The long-haired photographer's island is getting an overhaul - and the new additions couldn't be better. He's building a marketplace behind his photo studio!

It is so far unclear if this needs to be unlocked at all, but the new area contains plots for potential purveyors to set up shop - including Harriet, Sahara, and Katrina the fortune-teller! The cool cat is being treated to a new stand where players can get their fortunes read, after getting some new shoes from Kicks, and a new 'do from Shampoodle!

2 Gyroids Make A Return!

Here it is. The most anticipated blind reveal of the Direct. The announcement of Brewster coming back to Animal Crossing New Horizons heralded this, and so the announcement was inevitable. Players can once again collect Gyroids.

The small sound makers are back, and this time, with a difference! They have had a redesign, and now include shapes like a glass vase, wooden toys, and ceramic figures. How do you get these Gyroids? Well - after a rainy day, they spawn underground. But, should a player dig up a fragment, they can be planted! Give them a quick watering, and they will be fully grown the next day!

1 Happy Home Paradise Expansion!

Not to belittle the adorable Gyroids, the best thing by far to come out of this Direct was a new, paid, expansion: Happy Home Paradise. This DLC is also releasing on November 5th and includes essentially the entire Happy Home Designer game, that was released on the Nintendo DS.

Within this expansion, players can fly to archipelagos, and create personalized houses for villagers! This can be accessed by the DODO airport on the island. It includes a huge new amount of furniture and design options - including the ability to build walls! The modestly priced DLC will bring so much more content and hours and hours of fun to players both old and new!

Animal Crossing: New Horizons was released on March 20, 2020, and is available for Nintendo Switch.
