Last week, Nintendo held its third Direct presentation for the year, offering fans exciting announcements and updates on Switch games. Shortly after the Direct presentation, the Nintendo eShop opened a Blockbuster Sale that offers irresistible discounts on select digital Switch games.

Unfortunately for players looking for deals on first-party Nintendo games, the Blockbuster Sale only offers third-party games. However, players will still find noteworthy titles in the sale, and here are the best games available on the Nintendo Switch right now for cheap.

Headlining the Nintendo eShop's Blockbuster Sale is Ori and the Will of the Wisps, a platform-adventure Metroidvania game developed by Moon Studios. Ori and the Will of the Wisps was released on the Switch in September 2020, six months after the game's initial launch on PC and Xbox One.

Shortly after its release, Ori and the Will of the Wisps received universal acclaim thanks to its gorgeous visuals, intuitive gameplay that includes seamless combat mechanics, and exploration of vast environments. Unfortunately, a minor technical issue revolved around frame rates and visual bugs, but these were resolved with a day one patch. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is currently available for $19.49, which is 35% off its current price of $29.99.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition - $35.99

Next up is The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which is no doubt one of the biggest games on the Switch, taking up 28GB on the console's system storage. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition is available now for $35.99, or 35% off its current price of $59.99. Apart from the base game, which will already give players tons of hours of gameplay, this edition of The Witcher 3 also includes all 16 DLCs and the two expansion packs: Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.

Of course, one of the primary reasons The Witcher 3 takes up an enormous amount of storage is its vastly detailed open-world environment. Initially, many were skeptical whether the Switch could run The Witcher 3. Still, apart from some minor differences, players can expect to experience the fantastic story of Geralt of Rivia on the go.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 - $29.99

It is no secret that one of the biggest surprises of 2020 is the announcement of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2, which is a remake of the first two Pro Skater games by Neversoft. Players on the Nintendo Switch can now purchase Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 at the Nintendo eShop for $29.99, which is $10 less than its normal price of $39.99.

This War of Mine: Complete Edition - $3.59

Lastly, This War of Mine: Complete Edition offers the biggest savings on the entire sale. Switch players can now purchase the game for a low price of $3.59 or 91% off its current price of $39.99. For the uninitiated, This War of Mine is a survival video game that revolves around the civilian experience of war rather than front-line combat.

Players face difficult decisions to survive everyday encounters, and the game features various endings for all characters, depending on the decisions made by the player. Apart from the base game, the Complete Edition includes the Anniversary Edition update, which introduced new characters and locations to explore. It also includes The Little Ones DLC and This War of Mine Stories, which consists of three new stories set in the world of This War of Mine.

The Nintendo eShop Blockbuster Sale is live now and will run through October 3, 2021.
