The Summer 2022 anime season is coming to a close, and several great new series have come out alongside continuations of older series. While it has been great to see some old classics return, that return is short-lived, and who knows how long it will take for these series to come back again?

Sometimes, a very popular or successful show will announce another season right away, but other times it may be a while before another season is made. That uncertainty can be torture for fans who just want more of their favorite show. Here are some anime from the Summer 2022 season that needs to get another season.

7 When Will Ayumu Make His Move?

When Will Ayumu Make His Move anime

The poker-faced Ayumu Tanaka is the only other member of the shogi club aside from the unofficial president Urushi Yaotome. Despite his stoic expression, Ayumu is in fact in love with Urushi, and wants to confess his love to her - but only after he beats her in a game of shogi, a challenge that is easier said than done.

When Will Ayumu Make His Move? is a light, easy-going romantic comedy that doesn't have all that much drama or conflict. It's a series full of cute vignettes that leave a warm feeling in everyone's hearts. While the series isn't very deep plot-wise, the interactions between the two leads and the many side characters are fun to watch, and it would be a shame to not see Ayumu make his confession at last.

6 Parallel World Pharmacy

Parallel World Pharmacy

A medical researcher in Japan dies of overwork, only to reincarnate as Pharma, a young son of a family of noble pharmacists. While adjusting to this new world, Pharma discovers that he has unique powers and an incredible capacity for Divine Arts, supposedly blessings from the god of medicine, Panactheos. With a new lease on life, Pharma decides to work to revolutionize medicine in his new world.

Parallel World Pharmacy is a lot better than the usual isekai series. While the main protagonist can be overpowered in certain ways, he still encounters conflict and contention, and some moments in the show are incredibly tense. The show's first season had a conclusive ending but left things open for the possibility of new adventures. A new season might not be necessary, but it would be welcome.

Summer 2022 saw the continuation of the popular dungeon-crawling fantasy series with DanMachi's fourth season. The new series followed Bell Cranel and his many allies as they ventured into the dangerous lower floors, fighting horrific monsters and facing untold dangers. The accusations of Bell's friend Ryu Lion for the murder of another adventurer prompt a second journey into the lower floors.

The fourth season of DanMachi proved that the popular fantasy light novel series still has a lot to offer to fans. The action is as explosive as ever, especially now that Bell has gotten even stronger than before. This season was full of tense adventures and monsters that were more dangerous than anything that came before them. In addition, the season is set to end on a major cliffhanger, meaning a continuation is absolutely necessary, especially for fans of the show.

4 Fuuto PI

Fuuto PI anime

Fuuto PI is actually a sequel to the live-action tokusatsu show Kamen Rider W, itself one of the innumerable entries in the Kamen Rider series. The show follows Shotaro Hidari, a detective in the city of Fuuto, and his partner Philip as they encounter new crimes in the city using the mysterious Gaia Memories. The two detectives use their own Memories to transform into Kamen Rider W, a masked protector of the city.

Fuuto PI is a fun show, but it might be hard to understand everything going on without watching the original Kamen Rider W. Though the season has yet to end since the manga is sure to have more content, another season to see more of Shotaro and Philip's adventures would be greatly appreciated, especially by fans of the Kamen Rider series.

3 The Devil Is A Part-Timer!

After almost ten years since the original anime series aired, The Devil Is a Part-Timer! returned with a second season in Summer 2022, to the joy of fans everywhere. The former Demon Lord of Ente Isla, having escaped to the human world, continues to work at MgRonald's as he tries to adjust to life in the human world. Supernatural threats occur about as often as threats to his budget!

The Devil Is a Part-Timer! is a great show that went without a second season for far too long. The adventures of Sadao Maou and his friends, allies, and former enemies are full of hijinks, but they can also get extremely serious as well. Hopefully, fans won't have to wait another ten years to see the third season.

2 Uncle From Another World

Uncle From Another World Postponed a Second Time Isekai Ojisan Takafumi and Fukuyama Netflix

Takafumi Takaoka goes to visit his uncle in the hospital, who has finally awoken from a 17-year coma. To his surprise, he learns that his uncle has been living in another world that whole time, and has brought his magic powers back with him to his original world. Together, they review Uncle's adventures in the other world, while getting him used to the world he has been gone from for so long.

Uncle from Another World is both a parody of isekai and a springboard for a variety of classic video game references, courtesy of Uncle, who is a diehard Sega fan. Every episode is hilarious, but there are also moments of introspectiveness every now and then as well. While production issues have delayed the season, its success and popularity almost guarantee that another season should be made.

1 Call Of The Night

Call of the Night Nanakusa Yamori fly

Ko Yamori, struggling with insomnia due to various issues, decides to sneak out and see the city streets at night. There, he meets Nazuna Nanakusa, who turns out to be a vampire. Instead of being scared, however, Ko is enamored by the lifestyle that Nazuna experiences and wishes to become a vampire himself. To do that, he has to let Nazuna drink his blood...after he's fallen in love with her!

Call of the Night is the standout series of the season, with an incredibly nocturnal vibe that comes out of the colors used and the music played throughout the series. While the series initially started as a laidback slice-of-life series, the season slowly inched towards more serious subjects. Call of the Night is the most interesting show of the season, and not giving it a second season would be sacrilege.
