Hi-Fi Rush launched as a day one Xbox Game Pass game, with Persona 3 and Persona 4 releasing on modern platforms. A new chart now highlights the 20 best-selling games in January 2023 in the US across all platforms.The NPD Group has revealed the list of best-selling titles premium of January 2023 in the US, confirming that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 was the highest-selling game in this period. The critically acclaimed Dead Space remake took the second spot, followed by two sports games: Madden NFL 23 and FIFA 23. The Nintendo Switch exclusive title Fire Emblem Engage placed fifth, with Forspoken and One Piece Odyssey taking the seventh and ninth spots respectively. While the chart includes digital sales of some games, it should be noted that digital sales of Nintendo-published titles do not contribute to the rankings.
Continuing with the list, The Last of Us Part 1 enjoyed a massive sales jump, from rank 36 in December 2022 to 11 in January 2023, presumably due to the HBO TV series. Other notable highlights include Pokemon Scarlet and Violet at the tenth spot, with titles like Minecraft and Mario Kart 8 in the bottom half. The final entry in this list was NHL 23, with Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales right above it.
Players should note that this is a revenue-based chart, so games are ranked by their dollar sales and not units sold. Additionally, DLC and microtransaction sales aren’t included in the chart, so games like Fortnite and Genshin Impact will not be included in such a table. Still, it’ll give players a rough idea of each game’s sales performance in the market.
February 2023 features some big new releases in Hogwarts Legacy, Like a Dragon: Ishin, Atomic Heart, and Destiny 2: Lightfall, among others, and it’ll be interesting to see the sales rankings of these titles next month. Hogwarts Legacy is already a massive success for WB Games, and it’ll probably take the title of the best-selling game in February 2023 in the US.
