The popular online platform Roblox offers hundreds of different games, each with its own art styles, mechanics, and genres. Through its imaginative community, just about any player can find a game that's to their taste on Roblox. Those who are big fans of Pokemon should therefore be thrilled to learn that there are also plenty of great Pokemon games on Roblox.

These games can vary a lot when it comes to style, sub-genre, and even the generations of Pokemon they feature, ensuring that there's something for just about everyone. It's important to remember that Nintendo has had copyright issues with Roblox Pokemon games in the past though, so a lot of developers get around this by re-uploading a game with a new name and featured image whenever it gets taken down.

Updated on August 10, 2023, by Janine Engelbrecht: Due to Nintendo's strict copyright laws, Pokemon games - or Pokemon-like games - on Roblox are taken down regularly, with no guarantee that they will be back any time soon. Some games are very resilient, and some return under slightly different titles. These are the best Pokemon games on Roblox that are currently available, with a few exciting new additions, although there is no saying how long they will remain on Roblox.

11 Pokemon Legends 2

Given the power and popularity of Legendary Pokemon, a game built squarely around them was always going to be a hit. Few could have predicted just how popular Pokemon Legends 2 would end up being though, with more than 20 million Roblox players having stopped by to check it out over the years since its launch.

Like Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Legends is set in a large open world. However, rather than a trainer, players take control of a Legendary Pokemon of their choosing, with all of the series' Legendary and Mythical Pokemon available, as well as a handful of regular Pokemon.

10 BattleRevived

Pokemon Battle Brawlers (now BattleRevived) on Roblox

A very popular Pokemon game on Roblox called Battle Brawlers was removed from the platform a few years ago due to copyright claims by Nintendo. The game returned in 2020 under the name BattleRevived, with updates to the game having been made as recently as 2023. A link to BattleRevived can be found under the Pokemon Roblox Battle Brawlers Fandom Wiki.

The game features Pokemon from all the different regions in the anime series and allows players to explore a large map (with chat features) together or alone. Like many other Pokemon games on Roblox, such as Pokemon Universe, players can transform into and play as one of their favorite Pokemon.

9 Monster Arena

One of the newer additions to Roblox is the game Monster Arena, having been created in 2022. Monster Arena features creatures that vaguely resemble Pokemon, but that aren't quite Pokemon, as to avoid copyright infringements. Monster Arena has the same gameplay as the original Pokemon games, allowing players to run around an open world while encountering and catching 'monsters'.

The game is in its Alpha phase in 2023, and so players risk losing their save games every time new features are added, but in true Pokemon fashion, the game allows players to collect and level up 'monsters', as well as fight alongside or against other players.

8 Legends of Space

Legends of Space is a Pokemon game without featuring the name of it in the title, with a vague-looking dragon-type Pokemon in the thumbnail to throw off the scent. When players get into the game, they will see that multiple generations of Pokemon exist with the same creature design and name.

Players can battle each other, search for Pokemon in an attempt to collect them all, and battle gyms in a turn-based way that is lifted directly from the main Pokemon series. This game is one of the most popular Pokemon games currently available on Roblox with no sign of it being taken down.

7 Project: Bronze Forever

Pokemon Project Bronze Forever on Roblox Pokemon Encounter

One of the most popular (and resilient) Pokemon games on Roblox was Pokemon Brick Bronze. The game boasts 8 gyms, 1100 Pokemon, which include strong mythical Pokemon, as well as PVP compatibility. However, Brick Bronze is constantly being taken down due to copyright infringements and has now been replaced with Project: Bronze Forever.

Project: Bronze Forever is pretty much the same game as Brick Bronze, with a similarly huge Pokedex. What makes Bronze Forever great too, is that, like its predecessor, it contains 'real' Pokemon and not creatures that are vaguely similar to Pokemon. Bronze Forever was released in 2022 and is hopefully here to stay.

6 Pokemon Universe

Pokemon Universe has seen a few different iterations over the years, with the art style changing quite a bit during that time. Unlike other games, which force players to choose between controlling either a trainer or playing as a Pokemon, Universe allows for both and offers up a number of other great features to boot.

It may be a little rough around the edges and lack the narrative depth of some of its peers, but Universe is easily one of the very best Pokemon games on Roblox when it comes to multiplayer gaming. Up to 20 players can join a single server at once, allowing for some excellent gaming sessions; either with friends or randoms.

5 Project Polaro

Project Polaro seems to have escaped being banned from Roblox and still features multiple generations of Pokemon, mainly including non-legendary Pokemon and Pokemon cities in the game with exactly the same names. Players travel around the different cities such as Viridian City, and hunt for Pokemon in the tall grass.

It features trainer battles and gyms to beat and unlock badges for a Pokedex, where the goal is to fill it up by catching all of the Pokemon available. Players should beware that at some point it may need to be either rebranded or simply get taken down, but this is unlikely to affect player progression.

4 Bloxymon

Bloxymon is an RPG where players catch Bloxymon, upgrading and evolving them to catch them all. There is a sizeable map to explore, quests to complete, and PVP where players can all fight against each other in search of the best trainer.

While Bloxymon is going in its own direction, it is essentially a reskinned Pokemon game with some original features that retain a lot of the familiar Pokemon tropes fans love. Fans of the main Pokemon series will feel right at home with this game and pick it up within minutes. Because of its originality in terms of creatures and map design, players don't need to worry about the game being taken down.

3 Project: Pokemon

Project: Pokemon has been around for a few years, and despite Roblox's continuous bans the game repeatedly comes back, with data transferred to the new game for all players. Featuring a turn-based system lifted directly from the official Pokemon games, players will feel right at home with this.

The graphics are well-polished with a refined UI that makes navigation and tracking Pokedex entries simple. It features multiple generations of Pokemon which helps it appeal to a wide range of Pokemon fans, and its enduring fanbase ensures that the game won't be going anywhere any time soon.

2 Monsters of Etheria

Monsters of Etheria is a Pokemon game in everything but name. Previously under the name of Pokemon Fighters EX, Monsters of Etheria is a remade version that was created in response to Roblox taking down all of the Roblox Pokemon games due to copyright concerns raised by Nintendo.

Players travel around the Alchas region collecting different Etherians; cute creatures that have different types such as Rock, Fighting, Grass, etc that are obviously very similar to Pokemon types. Players can try to evolve their Etherians, collect all of the different types available, and take on gyms for bragging rights. Monsters of Etheria is essentially a Pokemon re-skin.

1 Loomian Legacy

While Loomian Legacy is not technically a Pokemon game, it is the natural successor to Pokemon Brick Bronze which was repeatedly taken down from Roblox due to copyright. It's easy for players to think of this game as a Pokemon re-skin, which is slowly going off in its own direction.

Loomian Legacy features creatures that the player encounters in the wild that can then be captured, with the goal being to catch all of the different types similar to Pokemon. The Loomians are even cuter than the cutest Pokemon. While it may not have the Pokemon name, nor the Pokemon actually featured, this is a natural successor to the most popular Roblox Pokemon game of all time.
