Rainbow Six Siege is the shooter out there with the most depth right now, and a lot of that is due to how interesting and complex every single map in the game is. Though they may not all be perfectly balanced, all of the maps have incredibly intricate detail, and it's almost always the team that knows the map better and takes advantage of that knowledge that earns that "W." There are still new strategies being developed on a lot of the maps in the game, even ones that have been there since launch.
Here are ten of the best maps currently available in Rainbow Six Siege. P.S. Kanal won't be included on this list, despite the rework looking very solid, simply because it hasn't been out nearly long enough to make a true judgment.
Updated on June 25, 2023 by Henrick Ndwiga: Any regular Rainbow Six Siege player understands that the map can make or break a match. But it's hardly a secret that there are favored members in the community. The maps in Rainbow Six Siege are undoubtedly the most distinctive feature of the gameplay.
One of the most important aspects of being great at the game is learning which barriers are considered "soft," which are considered "hard," and how to negotiate reinforcements. This applies to maps such as Bank, Clubhouse, Oregon, Kafe, Chalet, and Border, just to mention a few. Here are Rainbow Six Siege's top ten best maps.
12 Coastline
Coastline is a map that has a very different feel than most other maps in the game. Usually, that results in a map that isn't very well balanced or feels like it doesn't belong, but Coastline hits a perfect balance of familiarity and uniqueness that always make it a blast to play. The aesthetics of the map are top-notch, with the colors popping right off the bat, but, even once players dive deep into the details of the map, it has a lot going for it.
The open rooftop in the middle of the map forces roamers to really pick and choose how they rotate, but there are plenty of interesting runout opportunities that keep the Attackers on their toes.
11 Outback
The newest map addition to Siege, Outback feels like a perfect blend of old-school and new-school Siege. It has a lot of tight, claustrophobic areas, but knows exactly when to open up into a long sightline, as well. It's another map that has excellent aesthetics, even going so far as to color-code much of the map to make for easier callouts.
This map is new enough that there are still a ton of new strategies being developed, too, so a lot of the time that players end up playing here, they end of learning something new!
10 Club House
Clubhouse's gritty layout gives new fighting options and tactics that aren't available anywhere else. Although the premise of an infamous motorcycle club's headquarters in the American Southwest may sound uninteresting, it makes for an excellent map. The layout tests players' abilities at every level, from the main clubhouse to the bar area and garage.
Despite claims that it is too antiquated and simplistic, Six Invitational 2023 (SI), one of the most recent international Rainbow Six Siege events, had it as the most selected map. Clubhouse stands out from the other competitive R6 maps since it is enjoyable for solo queue players and team stacks.
9 Border
Border occurs at a Middle Eastern immigration checkpoint. There are two major structures plus an outside space enclosed by fencing and furnished with cargo containers. The map's many levels with destructible ground, walls, and ceilings provide various vertical gameplay options.
Some of the finest Rainbow Six Siege teams choose to play on Border since it is the most rewarding map for aggressive strategy. Border gives both sides a fair playing field. One of the most interesting aspects of competitive R6 is still seeing how various teams approach this situation.
8 Chalet
The French Alps inspired Chalet, a luxury mountain chalet with a complex, rich layout that promotes long-range and close-quarters fighting. Both sides can command the goal room and the basement, ground level, and higher stories. Players may also locate a window of opportunity by exploring the building's numerous rooms and corridors.
The community agrees that Chalet is among the most well-rounded Rainbow Six Siege maps. By all accounts of the data, they are correct. Chalet provides an inclusive but dynamic gaming experience.
7 Oregon
Oregon has been a staple in the Siege diet for a long, long time. While it has a pretty simple layout and a relatively small size, there's still somehow a lot to think about as it's an ideal place for ambushes and covert operations.
There are a few solid options when it comes to rotating through the map, and it's very much a map that requires players to make quick decisions and to make them count. The assaulting squad must move cautiously due to the presence of hidden Defenders; this is particularly true when passing via tiny passageways like the stairway leading to the upper floors. The changes make it possible to play Oregon in either a passive or aggressive fashion. Professional and ranked players alike agree that this map is the best.
6 Consulate
Consulate is another one that's been in Rainbow Six Siege right from the get-go, and it's stayed popular for so long because it's a really solid map. Consulate has some of the most depth of any map in the game, with a ton of vertical play possibilities and a huge amount of different rotation possibilities, plus multiple viable bomb sites.
There are a lot of unconventional methods used all of the time in Consulate, making it a map that really takes a lot of thought and effort to perform well on.
5 Bank
Bank is a strategic board game where the players take on the roles of either the Attacker or the Defender in a futuristic cityscape full of tall skyscrapers. The building has three stories, many exits and entries, and rappelling spots. There are a variety of defensive configurations available to defenders.
They're strong enough to protect the second story's bank vault, open lobby, and executive suite. Attackers must get through these zones while looking for flanking possibilities in the many alleys and stairwells. The internal windows, in particular, may greatly affect whether a squad attempts to protect a site or ensure it explodes. The offensive intensity guarantees a tense contest every time.
4 Theme Park
Theme Park is a Hong Kong-based abandoned theme park. Although, at first glance, these locations may look drab and uninspiring, they really provide some fantastic game options. The two-story map includes a haunted house and bumper cars, among other themed attractions.
It's up to defenders to hold in the bunks and bathrooms or move and flank attackers via the twisting corridors and tight corners. Due to the good line of sight Defenders may build, bomb positions are relatively easy for Attackers to breach. Fortunately, the Defender advantage could be better in ranked play, giving Attackers a greater chance.
3 Kafe Dostoyevsky
Kafe is loved by many of the world's greatest Rainbow Six Siege gamers. And so do even the popcorn gamers. Players may create an immediate impact with vertical plays, spawn-peeking, and other cheesy strategies in this opulent café in Moscow, Russia. The map depicts the establishment's main café, kitchen, and rooftop fireplace area over three stories.
Many floors and ceilings may be destroyed, giving Defenders various strategic options. For example, the preferred location on the third story has an amazing panorama of the whole layout. To avoid being picked apart, attackers must use utilities efficiently and strategically. In general, Kafe is a well-balanced map that encourages various approaches from players, among the greatest R6 competitive maps available.
2 Skyscraper
Skyscraper is Rainbow Six Siege's most distinctive Pro League map in its layout and style. It's situated atop a high-rise luxury hotel in Nagoya, Japan, which is much too alluring for violence. The design incorporates a garden in the middle to divide the two halves of the structure, which is usually a problem for attackers.
The building's exterior may be accessed through rappels, allowing players to make new entrance points, while defenders can employ vertical plays and spawn peeks to their advantage. Skyscraper is best played with a group of people rather than alone.
1 Villa
Villa, a sprawling Italian villa, is one of the most visually appealing Rainbow Six Siege maps. Its large chambers, open balconies, and winding hallways provide both Attackers and Defenders with a wide range of options for planning their moves. Rappelling allows attackers to reach the top levels of the house, while firm vertical holds allow defenders to escape with a kill.
In spite of its previous value, the map now provides a significant advantage to Defenders over Attackers. However, Villa is a challenging environment that rewards players for working together and pushes them to their physical and mental limitations.
